Collecting abortion medication the same day?

Has anybody collected abortion pills on the same day from BPAS? I have just found out that I am pregnant and I have decided on an abortion so I have a consultation booked in with BPAS on Friday morning. I found out today and my period was due tomorrow so I am very early and my periods have always been normal so I know It’s going to be a straightforward medical abortion however I am self-employed and I work in quite a strenuous job and because I’m self-employed I don’t get paid time off so it would be perfect if I could start the abortion with the first medication on Friday so that the majority of the abortion happens on Saturday and Sunday so that I can go back to work on Monday. Obviously if I’m not feeling up to it then I won’t push myself but I’m just trying as much as possible to be able to have as little time off work as possible so does anybody know if you can pick up the pills from the clinic on the same day or do they have to book you an appointment which more than likely would be the following week?

Hi Jersey, I don't know the answer about the timeline for pills, but if you are that early along, I just wanted to say that you might want to give yourself a bit more time to decide. There have been so many women on this board who aborted quickly out of shock, panic, and worry, who later said they would have chosen differently if they had let themselves think it over more carefully.

I have no idea of your circumstances and situation, so only you can be the judge of what's best. But rushing to abort can cause great harm that is irreversible. Whatever happens, I wish you well and am sorry that you are standing at this difficult fork in the road of your life.
