Running out of time

Hi,

I've found out I'm pregnant unplanned and long story short I would be a single mum. This has come as a massive shock and I can't believe I've found myself in this silly situation. I am wanting advise if anybody fell pregnant and decided to keep the baby and do it alone knowingly they would be?

Logically I'm leaning towards an abortion. I discussed this with a midwife and asked for a medical abortion.

Honestly MN isnt the place to influence this decision. Whatever you do may weigh on you either way.

Id say things to consider are: can you afford it? Would family help? How old are you? Do you have other kids? DO YOU WANT THIS PREGNACY?

There are charities who can help with someone to talk to but be careful to find on geared on neutrality. Best of luck

Is your title due to your age? If you have concerns and want kids I'd go ahead.

I meant I'm running out of time to make my mind up about having an abortion. As I'd prefer to have a medical abortion.

Do not underestimate how hard it can be raising a child on your own.

If the circumstances are right then it is not so hard. By that I mean:

do you have money, accommodation, a job, can you afford childcare, do you have family who will help, friends?

if your circumstances are the opposite to the above then life can be hard, isolating and generally limiting if you are on your own with a baby and no support etc

Yes going it alone is a scary thought process!

If you have one DC you've an idea what it's like, there really isnt a right decison but I hope you make the best one for you

Just a thought, in most countries the father of the child is required to pay child support whether he wants to or not. He knew that a baby might result when having sex with you, he decided to take that chance.

While it's good to think this decision through "logically" with the brain, you shouldn't leave out the heart. Logically I got pregnant way before I intended to, and money was very tight, but I decided to make it work, and now I wouldn't trade anything for my daughter. You have already had a child so you know what it entails, and how much you love your child.

There are some great pregnancy centers out there who can help you see if any aid would be available, give you a free scan and counseling. That might help you decide what you really want. Good luck!

I ended up going through with the termination. Its been a whirl wind and I think it was for the best. I've recently met a lovely kind man and even though it's early days he's been so kind to me. Maybe it was my blessing in disguise!.
