Test from clinic still positive.

I had a termination 10 days ago when I was 6 weeks and 3 days. I was told to do a test given to me by them to make sure it had worked. The test is 1000 mIU/ml so low sensitivity and not the shop bought type.

The test is positive.

Could this be a mistake or could I still be pregnant?

I also did a Clearblue and that is showing 2-3 weeks which was showing when I first found out.

So confused by it all.

10 days post abortion is really early to test. I had a medical abortion at 8 weeks and MSI told me to test 3 weeks after, I was still testing positive when I did the test. I knew I wasn’t pregnant though as all my rancid pregnancy symptoms had disappeared within 4 days of taking the tablets, plus I knew I had passed the pregnancy as I felt it come out.

I think its over 99% effective so you are almost certainly no longer pregnant, but the hormones stick around a while. Leave it another fortnight and do another test.

@MyUmberSeal can I ask please was the pain managable with paracetamol?

Yes it absolutely was. I had some intense cramping for an hour or so but as soon as the pregnancy passed, the pain stopped immediately. MSI did send me some stronger painkillers with the termination pack. I didn’t use them.

I just want it over with ASAP. I feel preggs too it's awful. Thanks for your reply too.

I've got a consultation on Tuesday next week so hoping I'll get the pills next week.
