On my lunch break so apologies for a possibly mumbled reply.
I had a medical termination last June at 8 weeks. Did it through MSI. I was lucky I seemed to have a textbook experience.
Took the first pill, 24 hours later inserted the pills vaginally, 3 hours after that I inserted the last two pills. Started bleeding within an hour of that, mild cramps which intensified, until I passed the pregnancy around 3 hours later. Bled reasonably heavily for 4 days, was changing pads Id say every 3 hours or so, and then it tapered off for a fortnight or so. Had my period 5 weeks to the day after the termination.
I did do the sensitive pregnancy test they send with the kit, it came up a weak positive 3 weeks after, when I was told to do it. I knew I wasn’t pregnant though, as I just knew in the moment I was terminating the pregnancy had come out. The pain stopped instantly, and all pregnancy symptoms had gone within 3 days, nausea, sore boobs etc.
If you are conflicted about the choice between medical or surgical, I hope the above helps. In that position again, I would choose the medical route again.
However, If you are conflicted about whether to terminate or whether to continue, then that is a whole other issue and I hope someone can help with that. All the abortion providers have excellent before and after care, and can chat through all your options, whether that’s continuing, or terminating.
