Abortion Pill 6 weeks ago and still bleeding

So I took the abortion pill 6 weeks ago, all went as expected and once it passed I had light bleeding.
3 weeks after I started heavily bleeding, severe cramps.
i phoned Bpas and went in for scan, she confirmed there was no continuing pregnancy but there was some tissue left in my uterus. She advised to let it pass on its own or I may just be experiencing my first period since the abortion.
Going forward another 3 weeks I’m still bleeding and passing clots.
I sometimes have to run to the toilet because I can feel clots coming out.
Bleeding for 6 weeks straight is really getting me down now.
If there’s anyone been through the same thing please let me know and what you did.

Have you talked to your gynecologist about this? I think you should phone them and see if they think you should come in for an exam. That sounds like a long time to still be bleeding and I'm very concerned for you.

@Wingingitmama92 hi hun I'm so sorry your going through this . I bled for about 6 weeks too I think a bit longer . I had to take the pills 3 times sadly and be cleared out in the hospital when they were checking me. I'm not a doctor but for me this was normal time to bleed. I understand the emotional toll the constant bleeding takes on you and it's not easy. Get checked by a doctor but I even passed a clot on my second "normal" period two months after I stopped bleeding. Again I'm not a doctor but I bled for this amount of time too . Hi,I went throught same thing in Feb I'm now at 3month mark and still light bleeding/spotting iv just done a shop bought pregnancy test and it's neg.i spoke to a nurse at the sexual health clinic when renewing my pill and explained,she said its just taking longer for the hormones to settle and if there was retained tissue you'd certainly know about it.how Ms your bleeding now?

Strangely not long after this post I stopped bleeding and haven’t bled since. So now waiting for a period. I also have done two pregnancy tests since and both negative so I feel a lot happier knowing it’s all over now. Thankyou for asking

Thanks for the update,I'm due to go on holiday in 5 weeks and dreading potentially bleeding the whole time,it's my 40th when there and don't want it overshadowing it.how long in weeks did you bleed for roughly?
.its getting me down and having an impact on my Intimacy with hubby.

@Ang39scot I think I bled for about 7 weeks in total and losing big blood clots through out that whole time too.
Have you been back to the provider to check it’s completely passed?
I totally get how you feel, I felt so down.
For the few days I stopped bleeding and had intimacy I started bleeding again.
I’ve got everything crossed for you that you stop bleeding in time for your holiday 🤞🏻
