I took mifepristone around 30 hours ago and deeply regret it, i felt extreme guilt as soon as I swallowed it and all the reasons for having an abortion felt so small...

Is it safe for me to not take the 2nd stage tablets and just see what happens? If I start to bleed use the 2nd stage medication at that point?

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Contact your abortion provider or EPU as soon as possible. I believe it’s unusual for a pregnancy to stick once the first pill is taken, but certainly not impossible. You need to be scanned and they will advise from there.

Positive thoughts x

If only taking the first pill there's about a 10% chance the pregnancy will continue and the chance of birth defect is only a tiny bit higher than in pregnancies where no pills were taken. I'm so sorry for the trauma you're going through and hope for a miracle.

Hello lovely, I have been in this same exact situation few months ago. I was advised by a midwife not to take the second dose ( via the helpline) and was told that the pregnancy may continue as normal. Unfortunately, I started bleeding very soon after and i never had to take the 2nd dose, I sadly miscarried just on mifepristone alone. Best thing would be to call the helpline numer given to you with the pills and speak to a midwife but in pretty sure they’ll tell you not to take the 2nd dose you’re not sure and regret your decision. I truly hope that you’re able to carry this pregnancy, I think there is a 50/50 chance so keep your hopes up and good luck! Let us know how it’s going! xx
