Hi,

I am 4 weeks pregnant and took the first tablet at 8:30pm last night. No real affects from it aside from some slight bleeding this morning at about 9am.

I am due to take the next lot of tablets this evening. Shall I still do them vaginally or orally?

Anyone been in this position?

I did this last summer. I had no symptoms after taking the first pill apart from feeling a bit bloaty.

I took the next set of tablets vaginally. The first two were 24 hours later and started bleeding within 15 minutes (about 7.30pm). Took the next two 3 hours after that. I'm pretty sure I passed the pregnancy just before midnight.

I'm glad I took them vaginally and passing it wasnt as horrific as I thought it would be. The cramps started off like period pain and it was worst just before I passed it, but not like labour pains, more like the worst period pains I've had before. Once it passed the pain died down completely to feeling like an uncomfortable period.

I timed it for Friday night and I was back at work on Monday. The day after I passed I had bed rest.

Hope that helps

@SparklyWriter Thank you for replying. I assume it was all straight forward and you got a negative pregnancy test three weeks after?

I do appreciate your reply.

I also did mine vaginally, and pushed them as far up as they would go. After I’d inserted the second lot of 2, I started bleeding within 30 minutes, and I passed the pregnancy a few hours later. Pregnancy symptoms had totally gone within 72 hours.

I did still test positive after 3 weeks but that’s not unusual and I knew 100% I had passed the pregnancy, as I felt it come away and the pain stopped immediately. I didn’t get another test sent out for that reason, and I had a normal period 5 weeks later.

Hope it all goes ok x

Which company did you go through? I am through BPAS
I’ve literally been going through the exact same as you.
I was exactly 4 weeks Thursday and took the first tablet at 13:40pm had no symptoms at all after this. Felt a bit sick in the morning on the Friday but I think most of that was nerves for the afternoon. I took the 4 tablets vaginally on the Friday at 2pm. I didn’t start bleeding until 4 hours later so I phoned the aftercare team who said because of the way I was bleeding I didn’t need to do the spare two tablets that are in just incase.
I passed several clots large and small and then passed a larger one which I am presuming was the pregnancy.
yesterday and today I’ve had cramps on and off with next to no bleeding, I’ve phoned the aftercare team again and they’ve told me if I don’t bleed heavy again by Wednesday I need to arrange a scan.
i do not ‘feel’ pregnant at all, my breasts are really sore and tender but I think this is normal and should reduce later in the week. So interested to hear how you’ve got on!

@A1C4

I was 4 weeks exactly on Thursday as well. I took my first tablet at 8:30pm on Friday as wanted to do it at nighttime when my kids were asleep. I had a small amount of bleeding with the first tablet.

I inserted the 4 tablets at roughly 9:30pm on Saturday night and didn’t start getting cramps until 12:50am Sunday morning with light pink blood on the tissue when I wiped. At 1:30am I had a bit more blood and stronger cramping so I took the last 2 tablets orally.

The cramps got worse but not unbearable, really bad period pains but I started panicking about the process not working but my husband calmed me down.

I had more blood and cramping, when I looked back in the toilet there were clots at the bottom of the toilet. Bleeding was moderate.

The cramps eased off yesterday afternoon but I have been bleeding. I wouldn’t say heavy heavy but moderate to that it was in the toilet and on my pad. I woke up this morning and it was a little heavier again and have had a few cramps.

I used BPAS as well but wasn’t told that if it wasn’t heavy to ring back, only if it was just spotting or none at all. I was also told not all women experience clots.

I don’t feel pregnant now, the sickness feeling has worn off.

I’ve seen people say they know when they have passed the pregnancy but I can’t say I can pinpoint when that happened.

I am finding myself stressing every now and then about having worked okay but I think that’s normal.

OP posts:
A1C4 · 24/02/2025 10:35

yeah I am also worrying/over thinking everything wondering if it worked or not. I think I know when I passed the pregnancy itself but it’s difficult to know exactly as I had several clots.
it’s the minimal bleeding I’m experiencing now which is a bit concerning I think, like it’s brown now rather than red and it’s just spotting/scanting so it’s so strange I just don’t know
and I’m overthinking every twinge/cramp/pain I have too.
my chest is really really sore today and I had a huge wave of nausea first thing when I woke up this morning but haven’t had that before today just on and off through your Saturday and a little yesterday.
I am back at work today - teacher in a send school - but we are on a training day so I think it was a little down to anxiety of coming back to work as well but it’s so hard to tell
I wish there was an instant chat with BPAS, NUPAS there’s an instant chat on their website but of course can’t answer queries if didn’t get treatment from them.

TheHallows · 24/02/2025 10:53

@A1C4 I also think that just 4 weeks is so early. There isn’t a lot to pass either. It’s very different to be 7/8 weeks along.

I have read on here someone who had very very little bleeding but all was fine.

OP posts:
A1C4 · 24/02/2025 11:43

That is reassuring to hear, yes it is very different. Although I still found the decision extremely difficult I knew I wanted the process completed before there was a heartbeat as for me I found this slightly easier to comprehend in my brain.
im hopeful everything is ok but I will ring BPAS Wednesday if I still don’t have any more heavy bleeding by then
I’m just hopeful like you say that because it’s so early on that all will be ok

TheHallows · 24/02/2025 13:18

That was the same for us. It felt easiest yo cope with knowing there wasn’t yet a heartbeat etc.

On BPAS website it says bleeding is different for all women and can also be light if that helps at all.

OP posts:
A1C4 · 24/02/2025 16:44

Yeah I’m just hopeful everything is ok and it’s worked, I just don’t like that I’m a massive over thinker. and there’s no way of actually checking it’s worked for at least another 2 1/2 weeks!

TheHallows · 25/02/2025 10:23

How are you getting on?

OP posts:
A1C4 · 25/02/2025 11:21

Umm doing ok, I’ve had random pains under my ribs which is worrying me of course because I know what that can mean and I want everything to be ok.
but it’s not persistent it comes and goes, which is why it’s confusing me. I have had no more heavy bleeding either just really light and like the end of a period so I’ll be ringing them tomorrow anyway and I’ll explain everything.
then I woke up this morning with a sore throat and a cough which again is so strange although I was ill around 10 days ago as well as that was my first ‘symptom’ of thinking I might be pregnant.
Thank you for checking up on me though, how are you getting on?

TheHallows · 26/02/2025 10:26

I’m doing okay. Have had bleeding since Sunday. It got heavier Monday and Tuesday, was still a little heavy this morning but has eased up a bit all in the same fashion as my period would.

I did a sensitive pregnancy test this morning and the line is a lot fainter than before the tablets so I’m hoping it has worked okay. I would assume it has otherwise the line would continue to get darker I think.

How are you?

OP posts:
A1C4 · 26/02/2025 10:31

I am going to do a test on the weekend I think and just see how it is.
I phoned BPAS this morning and they don’t seem concerned at all. They’re just saying to monitor everything and call back if I’m worried. I just want to feel normal again now and for everything to just go back to the way it was you know?
I am doing ok ish though, I just worry about everything and anything.
I am based in the south west - Somerset to be more precise! Where are you based?

TheHallows · 26/02/2025 10:59

To be honest I know you’re not supposed to test this early. I didn’t take the first tablet until late evening on Friday but figured I would anyway.

It’s good they don’t seem concerned though. I think things are a bit different considering how many weeks you were. It’s just a stressful time.

I’m in London. X

OP posts:
A1C4 · 26/02/2025 20:08

Yeah it’s said not to isn’t it but I won’t be able to resist come the weekend, just to see, I’m not expecting a negative straight away though as I can’t do the proper test until 14th March.

ahh few hours from me then!
I have a lesson observation tomorrow with my job so that’s has been keeping my mind distracted and occupied today!

@A1C4 How are you doing?

I did another test this morning with one of the very sensitive ones and the line is barely there. You really have to look at it to see it. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks it will be completely negative.

How are you getting on?

OP posts:
A1C4 · 28/02/2025 11:15

Aahh! I haven’t done a test yet, I’m gunna do one over the weekend.
I'm doing ok thank you, haven’t had much bleeding, yesterday was probably the most I’ve bled in a day since but even then it was barely anything.
I keeping thinking what if you know, but I’m reminding myself it was the best decision. I know this week there would’ve been a heart beat which would’ve made the decision even harder to follow through with so I’m glad I did it as early on as I did

TheHallows · 01/03/2025 09:31

@A1C4 Don’t beat yourself up, I’ve done the same. I made the mistake of working out the due date so I think that’s played on my mind more. I don’t regret our choice but I wish things could have been different as well.

It’s been nice to have you here to talk to. It has helped. X

OP posts:
A1C4 · 01/03/2025 09:32

Yeah I worked out mine too which like you hasn’t helped.
you’ve helped me so much and I can’t thank you enough! Xx

TheHallows · 03/03/2025 06:42

@A1C4 Thank you too lovely.

My bleeding stopped yesterday which was a week after taking the second tablets. I’ll do another test next week but the last one I took I had to really squint and move the test around in the light to see anything.

Did you do a test?

OP posts:
A1C4 · 03/03/2025 06:58

Yeah I did one Saturday, the line was super faint like yours but was still very much there
I am still very lightly bleeding but its end of period style, so brown but barely anything at all
Cramping has also completely stopped too

@A1C4 How are you doing? My bleeding completely stopped on Monday, like yours the same as the end of a period at the end. I didn’t have loads of cramping. Mostly the first day and a bit on the second day. If I hadn’t known better I would have thought it was my period.

I did another high sensitive test and it came back negative so assume the one BPAS sent will.

I hope you’re doing okay. X
