I opted for a medical termination at home at about 6.5 weeks, which I thought had all gone to plan, followed all the instructions and had large clots/blood loss. When I took the low sensitivity test 3 weeks after, this was still positive. Went back to the clinic for a check up/scan and found that there were retained products. I was also feeling quite unwell at this point so had two types of antibiotics. I was given another round of two Misoprostal to try and clear everything. When I took this I had some more smaller clots and blood loss continued.
Two weeks after this I took another of the tests they provide, still positive. I could only get another scan a week later, which I had a few days ago - still retained products. Since medical management has now failed twice, and I’ve been bleeding all this time, they have scheduled an ERPC for me under GA but this is still 10 days away. I’ve also got another round of antibiotics.
The bleeding has now slowed to almost nothing, after 6 solid weeks of bleeding so it looks like nature isn’t going to do its thing…
has anyone else had a similar experience/could let me now what the procedure is like? I want it done so I can draw a line under things but I am feeling very nervous about potential complications/future issues as this has been so drawn out so far.
