Hi I need opinions. So I’ve been thinking about my birth plan. I am currently 25 weeks and counting so I don’t have long to go😅 I’ve been thinking about having an at home water birth, everything will be provided by my local hospital and set up for me at my home but I’m done with reading stuff online and was wondering if any mums on here can help me out to let me make my mind up. I know there’s risks like in every pregnancy, it is my first baby and I’ve already decided I want to do a natural birth with a limitation of using gas to ease pain, I want this first birth to be as relaxing for me as much as possible. I know my body and I know how it gets when I’m stressing out, tiniest bit of stress causes me to have trapped nerves and be in a lot of pain. The thought of being able to be at home, in my safe bubble with my partner, an environment that I’m used to brings me comfort and sounds less stressful to me even thinking about birth.

I would set everything up for home birth if that’s what you want to do. especially if the thought of it gives you comfort! You can always transfer to hospital if you change your mind at the time. I wish I had a home birth for my first, I did most of it at home and found this part of labour to be the most manageable. I definitely put it down to feeling more comfortable in my own environment. Best of luck :)
