Hello lovely people. Families who make choices not to have NHS care or whose needs are not met by maternity units are are totally 'invisible' as births are recorded mainly through hospitals. We desperately need to know how many families are choosing to freebirth (give birth without a midwife) or use (expensive) independent midwife care, in order to improve support options.
