Post termination bleeding

Hello!
Looking to talk to anyone who has been through something similar please.
I had a surgical termination almost 5 weeks ago (this was awful for me - it was twins! I was 8 weeks pregnant but I have two children under two at home and unfortunately just knew I wouldn’t cope!)

since the termination I have been bleeding every day some days lighter, most days moderate bleeding - never really heavy and no clots. I also had a copper coil fitted during the procedure.
I went to the doctors today and they said they thought it would be due to the coil but to do a pregnancy test to be sure and if it was positive to go straight to the hospital. The pregnancy test was a clear, strong positive so I went to the hospital and waited for hours to be told that my blood test showed my levels of hcg to only be 88 and therefore they wasn’t too concerned but were booking me in for a scan within the next few days to be sure everything was ok.

again! I know we can’t view medical advice but anyone been through similar and all was ok. Or did you have remaining tissue? I’m just a little concerned but sure all will be ok.

thank you for reading if you’ve got this far!

Sorry you've been through a horrendous time.

Totally normal to be bleeding off and on for several weeks. It will stop when the HCG falls away so probably next week or two.

Hi hun

I had retained tissue. I had to take the pills a total of three times to dispel the tissue . I bled for a month in total . I got a scan and then every was gone and fine. It may not be retained tissue it may be part of the bleeding that happens and also the pregnancy hormones take a while to come down. Don't panic yet I know it's easier said than done but you will get a better understanding from the scan in a few days. But the bleeding can last for two weeks afterwards xxx

So sorry that happened to you, I have experienced bleeding for 8 weeks now after a twin termination and I had a positive home pregnancy test but negative low sensitivity ones and after a scan I was told retained tissue and got put on antibiotics and the bleeding got heavier. What happened after this did you get a scan and was it all clear? X
