VBAC vs ELCS

Morning all!

Let me give you a bit of a back story before I ask my question…

I had my daughter in 2017 and she was a natural breech delivery. This wasn’t my choice and we had opted for an ELCS but she came early, my waters went around 3pm and I went into hospital about 30 mins later, I was the left on MAU for around 8 hours and told I’d labour slowly as it was my first and they had booked me in for a section the next morning. When they examined me later that evening I was 9cm and ready to push, I pushed for 2 hours before she was pretty munched pulled out as she was distressed. It was very traumatic and when she was born she wasn’t breathing.

When my son was born in 2022 I opted for an ELCS as I couldn’t imagine having to go through the above again (he was not breech but I was traumatised).

I am due my third soon and would have liked to go for a water birth this time all being well and have an appointment with a consultant midwife booked in. I have been made aware of the 1% risk of my scar rupturing. Would you take that risk? I just don’t know what to do for the best.

Thanks for reading.
