Positive test post medical termination

I've been sifting through the threads but can't quite find anything that matches my situation.
I had a medical termination at 8 weeks, it seemed to work, I passed lots of clots and bled for 2 weeks.
I'm due to take the BPAS test this Saturday however curiosity got the better of me and I did a cheaper but sensitive test, I was clearly positive.
Obviously I'm going to do their test at the weekend, I'm just ever so slightly concerned something hasn't gone to plan.
I was incredibly unwell prior to termination, all symptoms disappeared within 48 hours of the first tablet.
Surely it has worked?
I'm just a tad surprised that there are still enough hormones left to make a positive test.
Not sure what I'm asking? Anyone had similar?

I terminated at 7 weeks and 6 days in June. Medical abortion through MSI. I took the test they sent with the pills after 3 weeks and it was still a strong positive. In theory I should have contacted them to get another test sent out as I know they say to wait another week and do another sensitive test. I knew I had passed the pregnancy though. There was no doubt about that for me. My pregnancy symptoms went almost instantly and I know just from the cramps and contractions that I had after I took the pills that I passed the pregnancy as I felt it come out and the cramping stopped immediately.

That was in June. I didn’t do another test and have had three normal periods since then. Hope that helps to ease your worries a bit. It’s not uncommon for hormones to take a while to get back to baseline levels. If you are really concerned though, get another test sent out. I just knew/felt I didn’t need one.

Thank you so much, that's really reassuring. Hope you're ok about it all x
