Preeti156 · 27/07/2024 07:39

Hi
iam Currently pregnant and I went to a clinic and I was 23+2 days and I was emotional there as it was very busy with men and woman and a church table outside.
they refused the abortion as they said I was emotional but was scared as I have health issues.
They are saying it is is now to late to get treatment even though I want to terminate due to health conditions and I have 3 children who have disabilities one severe, Iam struggling with my mental health where they said no and no where is open the weekend. I’m struggling to breath with copd too.
has anyone got an abortion at 23 weeks 6 days thanks
sorry if this is a sensitive subject but my heath is deteriorating have asked for a referral to a hospital but not heard anything. Thanks

She will be giving birth whatever she decides..

She won't have to go through more months of a pregnancy that is making her health deteriorate quickly if she has the abortion that she wants though

Take your agenda elsewhere.

Yes. And babies born at this gestation can live with the best neonatal support.

Why have you left this so late, OP?

Hello OP. We're so sorry to hear you're going through this.

We're moving your thread to the Pregnancy choices board now.

It's right there in her second post, she found out very late.

DO NOT CALL THIS HELPLINE FOR SUPPORT

It's an anti abortion group and will not give you the right advice as they have their own agenda.

That is true, but as all 3 of her children are disabled, it's likely that this one will also be. Few people can look after 4 disabled children without compromising their health further.

Msi I sadly closed on Sunday so my cut off time will be to late, I have requested a gp appointment too but waiting for them to call me

Because I didn’t find out until late and msi took ages booking my appointment, I’m not sure if my health would be taken into consideration

It sounds as though you have a lot going on. Do you have a social worker, or crisis support worker you can call?

You need to quote people when you're replying.

Preeti156 · 27/07/2024 10:17

At least read ops posts before you type out your unhelpful reply. She's answered that already.

Ops health is suffering, why are you trying to make her feel guilty for prioritising herself and her existing kids?

jerkchicken · 27/07/2024 10:33

No advice but my heart goes out to you OP, wish you all the very best going through this….

I'm so sorry, this was my mistake - I thought it was an impartial pregnancy advice line - the title is misleading and on the website it wasn't immediately clear either! Is Marie Stopes a better option?

Preeti156 · 27/07/2024 11:57

Thankyou, it really is hard enough. And not a nice situation to be in at all. I’ve been looking after everyone else and not prioritising my own situation. Msi took so long to get an appointment and I’ve never had one done before and didn’t know there was other places you can go to

Anything calling itself a "crisis pregnancy" helpline/charity is always pro-life. They will never help any woman explore all options and will always try and persuade her to keep the pregnancy regardless of whether that's right for her or not.

Their website does make it clear, if you know what you're looking for. Things like "post abortion counselling" and "Christian organisation" and "crisis pregnancy" and "we do not refer for abortion" and "significant proportion of our callers regret their abortion".

Because I didn’t know and as I said Iam caring for 3 disabled children. Thanks @jerkchicken absolutly It is hard enough already having to go through this but is it better for me to have a child I can’t cope with or be honest and open about the situation

OP posts:
TaylorSwish · 27/07/2024 13:06

I believe most people involved in caring for women who are seeking a late abortion say ‘as early as possible as late as necessary’
I hope that you are ok @Preeti156
