Hi,
I'm in a bit of a panic.
I've just done a pregnancy test to discover I'm pregnant a year after having a womb ablation and tubal sterilisation.
I'm in my mid 40s with an 11 year old who I struggled to get pregnant with. He also has medical issues so we never planned to have any other children.
I also have a range of autoimmune issues and have been taking, biologics, DMARDS, morphine and steroids for the past few years.
I know this pregnancy is not going to end in a baby and I am OK with that. I phoned the Abortion booking service as soon as I took the test. They are going to call back within 5 working days.
The problem is I have no idea how pregnant I am. I've had no periods since the ablation last May. I only tested as I wore a dress on Sunday that I wore a month ago and it was tight around my ribcage, this is were I put on weight during my other pregnancies (I had a number of miscarriages).
I've now obviously googled and the dangers of becoming pregnant after an ablation are freaking me out!
Has this happened to anyone else???
Also I am so thankful that finally we have Abortion services in Northern Ireland, a few years ago this would have been an absolute disaster, now its just a disaster.
