Surgical abortion at 11 weeks

I'm 35 have 5 children and I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant.

I'm booked in for a MVA abortion next week under general anesthesia. I have never had surgery so I'm terrified so much its affecting my mental health.
I've not been sleeping just obsessing about the whole thing. I'm 100% it's what I want just worried about the procedure and recovery.

Can anyone give me advise who has been through this. Please no judgemental comments 🙏

Hey, well done for posting and looking for reassurance. I have 4 children and last year had a surgical at 11 weeks. Like you, I had fully made up my mind after lots of careful thinking. I was also put under general when I had mine. It is over very quickly once you are fully prepped to go into surgery. The waiting beforehand might be lengthy due to the amount of appointments they have but that's all. The general anaesthetic is like falling asleep very quickly. It's a very straightforward procedure that rarely ever comes with complications. It's done so often. Once you wake, you won't have felt anything happening or even time passing. My recovery felt very much like a normal period that just lasted a week longer. You are really taken care of and supported by all of the professionals around you who know what they are doing. If you have any other questions, feel free to inbox me. You will be fine. Good luck and take care x
