Hi I’m 6weeks and only now made my mind up to terminate (it’s been a hard choice but due to financial reasons it’s best for my family ) I tried three online self referrals the last week Bpas,MSI and another one but all won’t do funding in my area !! Finally rang my doctor who referred me to the areas local sexual health . And earliest appointment is when I’m almost 9 weeks !!! That’s just the initial phone consultation. What if I need a scan etc first ?? Also I’m reluctant to have a home medical as I’ve hemmoraged seriously before and almost died after a missed miscarriage. I also have three children at home including a baby so I’m unwilling to go through this at home alone with them here . Please can anyone help advice what else I can do . That seems a long time ( and alot of baby growing ) before I get treatment which makes it harder and more damaging to my mental health 😢

I can’t help your options, but I really feel for you, maybe so I can only explain my story I contacted bpas and got the tablets sent to me, took the first ones no problem but I read many horror stories on how bad the second lot were so I couldn’t take them, called bpas and asked if I could have the surgical one but not the put To sleep one, I have awful health anxiety so not been coping well at all right now.. they are calling me back with an appointment to get done. I dont think they let you have surgical till 7 weeks so I’m all
honEsty probably not much different between 7-9 weeks so don’t fret too much x

Hey OP. Have you tried looking further afield outside of Wales? Can you get that far? I’ve had the tablet abortion 13 years ago and not only did I instantly regret it but it was horrific mentally and painfully for me so I’d advise against that option

Thank you both . I’m the same with health anxiety especially after that awful missed miscarriage . It was really traumatic losing that much blood and seeing everything plus I don’t want my kids to find out or see me in pain , also I’m home alone with them all the time apart from school hours (obviously I’ll have the baby tho but I can manage to get help with her for a few hours if I went to hospital for surgical ) I don’t mind travelling but like I said I’m struggling to find anywhere that will accept me because a lot of them don’t cover nhs in wales but only if you live in England ! Also it would be tricky as I have 4 children to work around as I have no family here and all my friends work etc. .
