Retained product

Hi

Has anyone had retained products that has then lead to an infection?

I've just been put on antibiotics by my GP however the course seems short, and he was quite dismissive of me needing them and what for. (I'd been to the hospital) if you've had this how long was your course of antibiotics? And did you get a mixture or just one set? I'm just on a generalised one.

Was it like for 7 days? I can't remember mine but they were just one set x

It's only been a 5 day course, I'm on my last day and feeling worse than I did. I was desperately trying to avoid a sitting in hospital for hour's situation. Thank you

I have retained product and they will not do surgery to take it out but saying I can do the medical abortion again which I'm not keen on doing. There's a small amount but I noticed a bad smell and feeling dreadful 4 days ago so my dr put me on antibiotics but I'm so worried about it not being removed and developing sepsis or something. The hospital have even said to wait until my next period, which could be a month away or longer. It is scary

Please don't worry. I had a small piece left that went away with next period. I didn't do the medical abortion process again. The antibiotics will help but if they don't (once you're finished the course) go back and let them know you're not well.
