Hi, can anyone help me out. I’m 5 weeks and 5 days. I’ve started my process of medical abortion I’ve done the first tablet then following day done the next lot as all advised. I’ve had cramping that hasn’t stopped diarrhoea and also bleeding. But my concern is that my bleeding is only when I go to the toilet and push otherwise there is nothing on my pad. I’ve pushed lots of clots out but I’m not having any bleeding. Is this normal?

I haven't had a medical abortion but I've had a miscarriage and it got heavier and heavier over days. I think nearly a week until I actually "miscarried". It set off as spotting when I wiped. Maybe it's just taking time.

I hope you're okay and it's over quickly for you. Take care x

Hi @Ero1997 I had an abortion on Friday night. I inserted the pills at 7pm and inserted the extra 2 pills at 10pm after no bleeding. By 11pm the bleeding started. I sat on the toilet bleeding for around 3 hours, passed around 8 clots which I would say were golf ball sized but some felt bigger. I was the same in that I tried to push the blood out and when I put pads on I almost felt like it couldn't drain out. I also found that when i was sat on the toilet if i put my feet on a step i passed more blood and tried to sit in different positions. By 3am the bleeding subsided and was like a heavy period. The next day (yesterday) I just had normal period amout of bleeding and today its been fairly light. I was 8 weeks pregnant. I hope this helps.
