Medical abortion ongoing… hand hold needed

Hi all,

just wanting to get some reassurances and some positive experiences if that’s a thing in this case.

i found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago, I already have a 7year old and recently just had two babies with a ten month age gap (16 month and 6 months they are now) I couldn’t believe it when I started to get pregnancy symptoms despite being on contraceptive pill! This pregnancy is just not something I could go through again both physically and mentally and my partner fully supports that.

i contact MSI two weeks ago and had abit of a wait in between phone calls/scans. I got my pills on Thursday. I took the first pill Thursday night at 6pm but I’ve only just had chance to insert the second lot of pills (one hour over the 48hour mark, praying this will still be effective)

currently laid on the couch to ensure the pills are dissolved and just fully freaking out! The unknown is killing me and I can’t wait for things to get started and for this all to be over.

I can’t comment on the just over 48 hour thing but just want you to know that normally things progress pretty quick from the 2nd pill. Although it sounds slightly different to mine I just had tablets, but it was within a couple of hours it all started I was 9 weeks when I had mine as I hadn’t realised with being on the pill.
I was sick at the start, assuming it was the hormones then just felt like bad period cramps with lots of bleeding and clots. I can’t say it was pleasant but it was bareable, the worst of it was over within a few hours, then it’s just bleeding abit like a heavy period.
Sending a big hug as it can be a very difficult decision and difficult thing to do but when you’re on the pill it’s certainly not something you planned.

Thanks lovely, I’ve just been to the loo and I’m already bleeding and just passed a small clot, can’t believe it’s started as quickly to be honest, only moderate pain so far but good to hear the bleeding shouldn’t get too severe!

it really was an emotional decision but definitely not something we planned or even left to chance, was such a shock and feel so guilty having to go down this route but I know it’s best for my family

Sorry I’ve only just logged back on here and seen this. Hope you’re doing okay a couple of weeks on.
It most certainly is a shock when you’re on the pill. Make sure you talk to someone if you need to, it’s something that still plays on my mind 9 years later I often think what if, however we make these difficult decisions for a reason and it’s always for the best 💕
