Taken first pill for surgical abortion

Has anyone taken the pill they give you to take before a surgical abortion (Mifepristone 200g) and then changed their mind and had a successful pregnancy? I am
17 and a half weeks - no judgement please as this has been a extremely difficult time and decision for me.

Yes, many people have continued their pregnancy after taking mifepristone. If you search for threads on here you'll find examples of pregnancies that continued happily and those that ended. It's just down to luck/chance now.

If you are lucky and the pregnancy continues there is no evidence of harm to the baby. Maternity services aren't often well prepared to give advice here (it's a fairly uncommon situation) and may tell you that you have to go through with the abortion or risk abnormalities. This is incorrect and out of date advice.

I’m ok starting to get some sharp pain now
I spoke to the clinic yesterday and explained that I took first pill and regretted it
they have advise me to go early pregnancy unit to get a scan so hoping I can get appointment today.

Had scan there no heartbeat
I’m absolutely gutted and feel so guilty.
Got to go back again tomorrow for second scan to confirm.
starting to bleed now too.
I was really praying that everything would be ok especially after reading some story’s on here who took all pills and their babies survived.

I'm so sorry it wasn't good news at the scan. How did your scan today go? I know it's tough but try not to be so hard on yourself. Take as much time as you need to process everything and take care. You will come out of the other side of this difficult time a stronger person. Best wishes to you x
