Hi! I recently started a UC claim, due the first payment tomorrow. I’m single, living with parents with my one child, and another due in 11 weeks.

my average earnings in work are around £130 a week

i also claim carers allowance £76 a week

im entitled to maternity ALLOWANCE at the start of January. I know when this starts, it’s £ for £ deducted from my UC, plus I’ll loose my carers allowance a week? Is it even point in me claiming my maternity allowance and just stay on carers and UC?

is Your maternity pay through work or is it the governments maternity allowance.
if it’s through work it will affect Uc like your wage does now as it is classed as earnings

if its government maternity pay it will be £for£ but you get your NI continuations for your state pension but I might be wrong
