Just looking for some advice as everything I’ve searched online has not made me feel anymore informed on whether this is normal or not and I’m getting worried it hasn’t worked
Just a warning this is going to be very detailed
so Monday I had a scan at an msi clinic to date pregnancy (I thought I was 5 weeks 3 days but I’m sure the midwife said 5+6) and ensure it was in the right place, everything went well and after leaving the clinic at 2pm I had the first tablet mifepristone. I generally felt fine after although
I did have some period like cramping and lower back ache towards the evening
Then just after 24h later yesterday at 2:30pm
I emptied my bladder and noticed when I wiped I had the tiniest little bit of brown/pink when I wiped. I then inserted the 4 misoprostol vaginally and literally laid down for like an hour to make sure they didn’t fall out
I started to cramp a bit stronger than I did with the mifepristone about 15 minutes after inserting them
And continued to have strong heavy period like cramps every few minutes and decided to take some paracetamol
I went to the toilet for the first time after inserting the pills at 4:30pm, I had started bleeding when I sat down and passed my first clot (I did have a container to catch what was coming out as I wanted to make sure I was passing things properly, weird I know)
I could see pill residue around the clot but I read it’s normal and would have absorbed what was needed after 30 minutes
the clot was medium sized I would say (kind of flat but wide)
then 30 minutes later at 5pm I went to the toilet again and passed another clot around the same size and then 15 minutes later at 5:15 another clot of the same size
at 5:30pm I inserted the last 2 misoprostol vaginally (to avoid side effects and because I hadn’t eaten in hours) and then laid down for 45 minutes. during this time the cramps got stronger and I started to feel hot and sweaty
Then I sat up to eat and continued cramping
after eating I took some ibuprofen as the cramps were quite strong and making me feel like I couldn’t sit still
I didn’t go to the loo for a while as I wanted to give the last 2 pills as much time as possible to dissolve
Went to the loo at 7:20pm and passed the last clot of the same size as the others with some
after this i continued to cramp and passed maybe a few more tiny clots and continued to bleed when peeing
I was still cramping when I got into bed at 10pm but less intense than they were
throughout the whole process I only had to change my heavy flow pad once as most of the bleeding was when I was on the toilet
this morning I woke up and the cramping had gone and I hadn’t bled in the night
I’ve only been bleeding today when I wipe (very small amount) no blood in the toilet apart from one very small blood clot but I’ve read that bleeding should be like a normal period for at least a week after
I did call the msi aftercare line this morning and asked the nurse about it, she said it’s a good sign that I passed clots as they wouldn’t expect that where I was early on but she did say that they would still expect me to be bleeding more than I am at this point but to call back tomorrow if I’m still worried
I’ve been searching the internet all day to see if this is normal or not
I can’t find an answer and I’m really worried it hasn’t worked even though I was confident it had last night with the amount of bleeding and clots
anyone have any experience with this?
