Abortion complications

Hey so I'm looking for some help really as I'm just so fed up.

It's a long read .. I apologize.
On the 9th October I had my first termination pill that stops the pregnancy hormone and on the 11th I took 4 vaginally and 2 orally after 4 hours.
I thought everything went well and was relieved as I had got myself up to 100 about it all. Abortion was never something I had ever considered but with having 2 children and one of them having very high additional needs and a marriage breakdown it just wasn't something I could go through at this stage and I don't think I ever will have any more children.
I was still bleeding off and on and passing small clots but on Tuesday I went for a scan and had 2cm retained tissue I was put on antibiotics and the next morning started bleeding fairly heavy and then by Thursday I was passing huge clots and by Friday I was admitted to hospital they wanted to keep an eye on me and by Friday night they said I could go home but keep a close eye on bleeding. Today is Sunday and I'm crampy and still bleeding bright red but clots are no where near as bad.

I'm just looking for some advice as I just want this all over now and hoping someones maybe been in a similar situation that can give me some hope.

Hey. Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I can’t say I have been in your exact situation but when I had my termination 5 years ago I bled for a very long time. Maybe over a month. They thought that I still had tissue left over but didn’t. It would get light and then suddenly become very heavy and I would have bad cramps to the point that I couldn’t get up.

I was fine in the end and the bleeding did eventually stop - but I thought it was strange and even my partner at the time was surprised I bled for so long.

Wishing you a safe recovery and hope that the antibiotics help to clear things up x

Thanks for your reply. I had a scan today and it showed all my tissue had gone so I'm hoping the bleeding will stop soon. It's just a horrible experience physically and mentally. I hope you recovered well from yours x

Hiya! How did you know you had passed did you see what the tissue looked like? I passed the tissue yesterday and bleeding today

Hey, I can't say for sure what the tissue looked like but I will say it was very dark red clots I passed whilst in hospital and at home so was sure my retained product was gone and then had a scan to confirm. My bleeding lasted a good 6 weeks and it was always medium to heavy then just stopped. I am now on my 3rd period since then and everything is thankfully going back to normal. Hope you're well!

@Rachelmm i passed my remaining tissue last Thursday had one day of bleeding after ans since then normal discharge no bleeding or anything! I’m hoping my body will now wait for a period and things will return to normal! What was your first period like I always have heavy painful periods so I’m expecting no different x

My first period after was really heavy and large clots again but nothing that raised alarm bells to be seen. my hormones were all over the place, I was a lot more anxious and emotional that normal but I've just had my 3rd one and they have settled back to normal x

@Rachelmm yewh my bleeding has stopped since passing the tissue. Was the bleeding you had with the tissue heavier than your period? See I’m, worried about what my period will be like😩 but surely it will be like. Having a period after birth x
