Failed Abortion- Continued pregnancy after finding out..

Hi , I have came across this page after having a disappointing conversion with a doctor ( who deals with abortions), looking everywhere for the answer to my question and by the looks off things I am not the only one. Although it very tuff to have to go through this I am glad the honesty I see , The male doctor that scan myself to conform that the pregnancy is continuing.. conformed that although 3+weeks ago I decided to go though with an abortion at home.. 1 tablet then 48hr later 4 inserted and later on that day 4 oral (personal at this moment I'm not sure if I did in fact take the oral one my brain is mush).. after these I experience an upsetting loss of blood which brought the guilt on really hard, but I did accept that I made the decision. 3 weeks later I took the test that was given but came back invalid so took myself to asda and bought a clear blue ( week test ) came back positive 3+ with this information I contact and spoke with some staff regarding this and I got booked in for a scan the next day as prior I thought I may have been further ahead on in the pregnancy so they wanted to confirm the dates. So first scan of this ''pregnancy' I went to the gynaecologist and had a scan done coming back an active pregnancy at 8 weeks, asking what my next step was , straight away I said I would like to continue my pregnancy , personally the doctor was not amused or maybe confused.. couldn't answer any question I had just straight to the point that he has never came across this in his time at the hospital meaning ( a women going through with an abortion for it to fail then continue with it) which got me really upset and worried I followed on by asking on why I pasted so much blood in the first place for it not to off completed.. I never got a answer I left quite upset , the 2 nurses at the front desk stopped me and spoke with me for 30 minute reassuring me , I'm so glad they did as I was a nerves reek. So I am booked in @ a maternity hospital in 2 weeks for a 10 weeks scan, to confirm that the heart beat is there( as he said it not shown until then...) I'm happy but really hating on myself for the fact I may have harmed a health child. I don't believe anyone has the answers for each person experience as all are complete different I think after reading and taking in everyone's situation my question has changed to. After finding out that you are still pregnant , and changing you mind to continue with that, did you receive support? knowledge? and help understanding the what ifs etc.. My apologies if this wasn't the best on explaining something, I would apricate any type of response, but if not I send my love to all you strong ladys Take Care X

Hey I also swallowed 2 misoprostol and repeated 2 after 8hrs then when nothing happened I put 2 under the tongue and inserted one down.
After all this struggle, I saw just a spotting and cramping. There was no bleeding. I did this at 6 weeks, but when I went for scan, I was told that there was clotting in-between the gestation sac and the uterus. They advised me to keep the pregnancy stating that the baby was okay and I was given treatment for the clotting. Yesterday when I went back for review, we made a scan and the clotting was no more, the baby is okay now at 9 weeks and there is a heartbeat. But am still worried of the congenital defect since these can only be detected by 20 weeks

It’s a tricky one as it is a risk ! But good news there is a heart beat and measures the weeks that it should. when I had mine it didn’t it was like 3 weeks behind which was a indication of bad news even tho the pregnancy was still there. I genuinely hope that it all works out for you please let me know

I was 16weeks pregnant when i took the abortion pills and failed, but decided to continue. Is there a chance i can have a healthy baby?

I been searching for weeks to get some clarity and understanding on how a failed termination continues with the embryo. I had to have a medical termination, so it was surgical, the vacuum procedure to be exact, at 9 weeks. It was twins and the most heart breaking thing ever for me. I took the test 3 weeks later as they advice you and it came back positive. I still have very rampant hormones. They never really stopped even after the surgery. Esp more sore breasts.
I have a scan coming up next week to confirm as the GP says it can be normal to show positive and still be hormonal for up to two months after a termination eap with twins. Meanwhile my body does feel very pregnant still. I don't think it's twins at this point, so the procedure was partly successful. But I just so confused on how this is even possible and how does the baby even continue to grow and what will happen now. I read on one forum if it was a failed termination they don't reattempt another termination ?! Not sure how accurate this information is tho... And if I am going to end up keeping it, how healthy is this baby going to be?!

I'm waiting for a scan in few weeks. im still am convinced I'm pregnant even tho Im definitely sure I passed the baby. I feel like I'm going crazy has anyone had this. I had serious regret after I did it so don't know if I'm going crazy. 😬🤣 like the chances of a baby being there is so low I know it but I've been getting fluttering in different places of my stomach for about a week now my stomach has been bloated ever since and I worked out today I'd be about 17 weeks if I'm still pregnant.

I took an abortion pill for 9 weeks. I had a big blood clot come out after I didn't bleed, I did an ultrasound and my baby still has a heartbeat, but radiology said it's not a fetus, it's an embryo. the result of the ultrasound. there is no subchorionic hemorrhage noted, the posterior cul-de sac is unremarkable. I decided that I will continue my pregnancy, is there a chance that my baby will have a defect?

Mines was also like this & my pregnancy still continued with no issues , Baby girl is 9 months and thriving 💕

Hii , worked out I was around 5/6 weeks when taken the first stages when I went for the my scan 3 weeks later the pregnancy was confirmed 8 weeks! Them later got another appointment at 10 weeks everything was well , and now my daughter is 9 months

what happened to you after you took abortion pills? are you bleeding

Both results indicate different feelings , you will always feel some type of way regardless of a healthy pregnancy or not
take this time to focus on yourself there was reason why you didn’t feel 100% going through with the pregnancy so don’t forgot about that , build yourself back up to a place where you feel confident in yourself again X sending love

I’ve recently had this experience. I went in to have a medical abortion at 9 weeks. I had cramps and very light bleeding no clots still up to this day (now 12 weeks) I felt something was off being I still felt pregnant and extremely sick with nausea and vomiting I went to the er they did an ultrasound baby showed up moving around with very strong heartbeat so I made the decision to continue with pregnancy. I seen my ob today he’s very positive that everything will be fine: I’m still spotting and cramping. He prescribed me progesterone to help. Waiting to do another ultrasound to check on baby. I’m praying everything is fine & baby remains healthy although very worried about birth defects

Hi,I take 2 mifeprostol and 4 tab of misoprostol sublingual and immedetly i had slight bleeding and minimal clot.qhen i check for my ultrasound the my gynecologist told me they are fine by the way they are twins.now i am concerned can they have any deformity?Now i am 8 week pregnant pls 🙏 answer for me tnx

@MyNattyTealop my understanding if that if they survive the tablets then they tend to be ok-e.g it finishes the pegnancy or not. fingers crossed all goes well

my pregnancy and birth and my daughter have reach all milestones as normal.

I read up after lots!!! Of information that when taking the tablets etc , it doesn’t necessarily target the pregnancy it’s self it more softens the wall around the pregnancy which then leads to blood loss and if the wall is soften enough I believe then it passes through to complete the abortion and some time that doesn’t happen therefore we continue the pregnancy like normal , any disfigurement of sorts wouldn’t be caused by your decision.
