Mifepristone help

Hi, first time posting. For a number of reasons me and my partner decided on a medical abortion of this pregnancy. I took the Mifepristone at around 10:00 this morning. After a couple of hours I started cramping horribly and bleeding.

At around 3:00 I went to the toilet and started passing some clots. Then at 5:00 I passed a rather large clot. Since this the bleeding has slowed down rather a lot and I’m now spotting rather than bleeding heavily And my cramps are near enough completely gone. I’m supposed to take the misoprostal tomorrow evening so I have the weekend to lie about during the worst of it. And will call the NUPAS aftercare line in the morning

But in the meantime does anyone know if it’s possible to pass a pregnancy after only the mifepristone? I can’t find any information on the subject. Or what might happen now? Will I still have to take the misoprostal?

yes it can pass after the first tablet even without taking the second lot sometimes the services may get you back to scan you or tell you to take the second lot anyway to make sure any lasting tissue is expelled. so definately phone up the helpline tomorrow to see what they advise as every case is different. hope that helps.

Hi just an update. I took the four tablets last night then the other two four hours afterwards. However since then I’ve had minimal cramps (I did take the codeine in case it was worse) and the bleeding has slowed down. I’ve passed a couple of tiny clots but nothing massive.

Does anyone have any advice on if it’s worked or not? I’m panicking about whether it’s failed

this is a post i posted a few weeks ago, i never received any comment on it.. i bleed alot large clots for 1 day and the rest just normal , 3 weeks later i found out i was still pregnant, going for my10 week scan (see if there is a heart beat).

Hi , I have came across this page after having a disappointing conversion with a doctor ( who deals with abortions), looking everywhere for the answer to my question and by the looks off things I am not the only one. Although it very tuff to have to go through this I am glad the honesty I see , The male doctor that scan myself to conform that the pregnancy is continuing.. conformed that although 3+weeks ago I decided to go though with an abortion at home.. 1 tablet then 48hr later 4 inserted and later on that day 4 oral (personal at this moment I'm not sure if I did in fact take the oral one my brain is mush).. after these I experience an upsetting loss of blood which brought the guilt on really hard, but I did accept that I made the decision. 3 weeks later I took the test that was given but came back invalid so took myself to asda and bought a clear blue ( week test ) came back positive 3+ with this information I contact and spoke with some staff regarding this and I got booked in for a scan the next day as prior I thought I may have been further ahead on in the pregnancy so they wanted to confirm the dates. So first scan of this ''pregnancy' I went to the gynaecologist and had a scan done coming back an active pregnancy at 8 weeks, asking what my next step was , straight away I said I would like to continue my pregnancy , personally the doctor was not amused or maybe confused.. couldn't answer any question I had just straight to the point that he has never came across this in his time at the hospital meaning ( a women going through with an abortion for it to fail then continue with it) which got me really upset and worried I followed on by asking on why I pasted so much blood in the first place for it not to off completed.. I never got a answer I left quite upset , the 2 nurses at the front desk stopped me and spoke with me for 30 minute reassuring me , I'm so glad they did as I was a nerves reek. So I am booked in @ a maternity hospital in 2 weeks for a 10 weeks scan, to confirm that the heart beat is there( as he said it not shown until then...) I'm happy but really hating on myself for the fact I may have harmed a health child. I don't believe anyone has the answers for each person experience as all are complete different I think after reading and taking in everyone's situation my question has changed to. After finding out that you are still pregnant , and changing you mind to continue with that, did you receive support? knowledge? and help understanding the what ifs etc.. My apologies if this wasn't the best on explaining something, I would apricate any type of response, but if not I send my love to all you strong ladys Take Care X

It can be worth contacting your provider and they can get you in for a scan to see what's happened
