Hi all! So I am 28, I have a lovely healthy son and am married to a wonderful man, but for personal reasons we have decided to have an abortion at this time.

I took the first pill on Monday night at around 7pm. I had no symptoms whatsoever, and even went to work (in the office) yesterday. I was at my friends house last night, where I felt a rush of blood. I went to the toilet and, apologies for the tmi, but felt something fall out of me and plop in to the toilet. I was unable to see what it was due to the amount of blood. For reference, I had very mild cramps by this point, but nothing else.

I called my local hospital this morning and they told me to continue with the treatment, and so I inserted the 4 pills at 8.30am this morning, and the remaining two under my tongue at 12.30pm. After inserting the first 4 tablets, I felt nothing for a while, and then mild cramps. By around 12pm, just before taking the other two, my cramps got up to which I would describe as bad period cramps. Things got a bit hairy at 1.30pm where the cramps got quite severe and I was sick, though I have to say after being sick I felt much better.

I am struggling to find this information anywhere, so I thought I would ask it here, has anyone else went through this procedure and lost the pregnancy from the first pill? I strongly believe I passed the pregnancy last night. I have had some large blood clots today, but nothing as significant as what I felt last night. This is therefore making me worried I won’t have the same “relief” a lot of women are describing while being on the second pills and passing the pregnancy. I am now 8 hours after taking the first 4 tablets, the bleeding has subsided a bit, and my cramps seem to be getting better, I guess I am just worried I haven’t passed it yet, or that it happened last night and I’ll have these terrible cramps for a while. Any help is greatly appreciated.

yes it is possible to pass after the first tablet. i took the first tablet, changed my mind so didnt carry on with the second lot (at the advice of the clinic) but still passed the pregnancy within about 36 hours. something i read somewhere was sometimes its happens when the pregnancy may have been less viable anyway. you can either then wait and do the pregnancy test in a few weeks time or sometimes the clinics will be willing to rescan you. hope this helps and you recover ok physically and mentally x
