I am looking for some advice as I'm struggling hugely to make a decision between a medical abortion and going ahead.
Me and my partner found out we were pregnant last week (very early on, about 3 weeks). We were thrilled and both of us really do want a baby. The issues we are having is, I am new to my job (only 2 months in) so right now, I'm not entitled to Enhanced Maternity Pay, only SMP. Once I have been with the company 1 year, I will be entitled (so if I feel pregnant in 6 months time, the timing would have been perfect!)
I am trying to think into the best thing for our family and whether living on SMP for 1 year is really feasible, especially in the current cost of living crisis.
I am leaning more towards waiting 6 months so I can ensure we can be off to the best start financially being on EMP. But, of course - this makes the decision no easier :(
Could really use some advice and stories on mum's living on SMP and your opinions. Thank you so much already x
