Bleeding after Medical Abortion

Hi, 4 days ago i had a medical abortion. the pain was awful but i passed big blood clots and woke up feeling better the next day and as im aware everything went as it should have. However im just concerned about the bleeding im having now. It’s not like normal period blood. It’s quite thick as if it’s blood mixed with thick discharge. This may be TMI but im not sure how else to describe it. If i go to the toilet it’s sometimes hanging down from my vagina into the toilet. I just want to know if this is normal?

Hey. This is normal I’d imagine it’s just some of the tissue leaving your body. If the pain has subsided also that’s a good sign. You could always contact your provider if you are worried!

Spoke to Nupas helpline. They said this is normal for 1st week of bleeding post abortion.

Hey ! I had an abortion last week.I passed 4 big clots an hour after inserting the pills ,however I only bled upto the next day.With no intense pains or cramps,just period pains .Can one have a successful termination after bleeding for just 1day.

hey! i’m sure this is normal as i know it is different for everyone. Maybe just wait a day or so and ring your abortion helpline. They will be able to help you. But i’m sure if you’ve passed big clots, it will have been successful.
