Can someone who understands and/or who has taken SPL please help me understand?
I've read so much info online and even reached out to a charity that supports pregnancy/families to help understand and I'm still not getting it.
I get 26 weeks full paid leave from my employer, not sure what my partner gets yet, he needs to discuss this with his employer (as it's not listed with maternity/paternity leave!)
Am I right in thinking we can split this and get 13 weeks each both at full pay, then go to statutory and then to unpaid?
Honestly, I don't think we could afford the statutory pay but are keen to take leave together so it may be a case of returning to work after the 13 weeks (I work from home so this wouldn't be an issue for me)
Also, if he gets a certain amount of full paid leave, can we add that on to the 26 weeks from my employer and split that too?
