Still bleeding 3 weeks after medical abortion

I sadly took the decision to terminate my pregnancy 3 weeks ago with a medical abortion at home . I was just over 6 weeks pregnant.
2 hours after the second pills I had strong Cramps and 3 plum sized clots with some heavy bleeding that lasted 2-3 hours. Since then I’ve been bleeding most days, most days like a heavy period and the occasional day it fades off as if it’s the last day of my period. Over the last week though I’ve had cramping starting up again with a very heavy bleed and more plum sized clots. This has happened 3 times this week and had flooded through and soaked my clothing.
I’ve been taking iron tablets and feel ok not like infection or anything but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar.
I really don’t want to go to A&E or hospital but I am starting to feel concerned.
could any please let me know if they had the same and what the outcome was?

I was in the exact same situation as you, 6 weeks pregnant and took the first pill 3 weeks ago today. I was bleeding like a period but it reduced to spotting and I thought all was ok - on about day 16 I had heavy bleeding and clots lasting around 3 hours. Then I was ok again day 17/18 light bleeding. On about day 19 I woke and had flooded a pad, very heavy bleeding and clotting that day and onto A+E at night. This was Monday evening. I came home last night after a surgical abortion as the scan they did at the hospital showed retained product. Please go and get it checked out. I'd like to think my story is as positive as it can be. Good luck x

I’d go and get it checked. Same happened to me, light bleeding, some blood clots but nothing I could see that looked like the pregnancy. I bled on and off for the next 3 weeks. Went back to the hospital for a scan and Nurse said she thought she could see something 2-3cm long but wasn’t sure. They gave me a tablet (can’t remember what it was called) and told me to come back in a week. That week I bled on and off then one day while cleaning I felt something come away. I’m sure it was the pregnancy. As soon as that happened the bleeding stopped.

I'm facing the same problem but I had my abortion 2 months ago.On the month I had my abortion I bled for a day.The following month I didn't see my periods,the came this month.its been 3 weeks no I'm still bleeding,I have blood clots coming out every week...I'm so confused I don't know what to do please help

Been bleeding for 6 weeks after abortion. I went for scan on the fourth week, and they found nothing. But I’m still bleeding.
what can I do to stop it please?

I also was having stomach pains . I think I am losing too much blood. Im ready for this to be over with! By reading some of the posts on here I am going to get checked! Because I really think something is WRONG! Im glad I am not alone ..

I was 5 weeks pregnant when I had surgical abortion. Post abortion I had 4 days of normal period like bleeding. But I again started to bleed from the 6th day. Today is the 3rd week and I am still having light bleeding, which doesn't even soak a pad throughout the day. Is anything wrong?

I had my abortion done 16 of September I got the medical and I had bleeding the first few hours it was heavy then it was very light the next few days until the second week was over and 2 weeks and 2 days now and I’m bleeding quite a lot now and I pushed out something that felt rubbery I can’t describe it but it wasn’t a blood clot. It’s my first time having an abortion and I’m not sure what to do or if it’s normal to be bleeding a fair bit with cramps , pls give advice

I had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago. Bleeding stopped for a day after a week and 5 days, commenced bleeding the following day and it’s been heavy bleeding. Am concerned because the bleeding had to last for 1-2weeks but it’s been 3 weeks now. I was six weeks pregnant.. anyone with helpful information and advice

I learned I was 5 weeks pregnant and I terminated my pregnancy by orally taking 4 Misoprostol and vaginally inserting 2 Misoprostol. Spotting then light bleeding started 24 hours later, bleeding remained very light for just about 4 days. Fast forward to day 15 where I am now passing clots and having to change my pad every 3 hours because it's completely full. Is this normal or should I go see my doctor ASAP?

Most abortion clinics state that bleeding can last up to 6 weeks after an abortion.

They say unless you’re bleeding very heavy or have severe cramps, or blood clots the size of a lemon then you should be okay.

I had medical abortion 3weeks ago 6week and fewdays pregnent im still bleeding sometime light and somtime heavy but when i rang my medical provider she said its normal aslong its not to to heavy and blood clot some time its stays abt till next period

It is normal to bleed weeks after an abortion , aslong as you’re not in any great pain and are not having very large blood clots!

after about 2 weeks I started to spot and thought the bleeding was over and then I went back to heavy bleeding up until week 4, then it all finally stopped

Im in the same position, 2 weeks on still having large clots. Doctor put me on antibiotics as i had a bad smell following having the medical abortion, i called the helpline now i have to go for a scan next week to see if there is any tissue left in me. They advised me that if there was that i would be giving the tablets again and if that doesnt work a surgical procedure. From what ive read you can bleed up to 8 weeks after but its always best to check if something doesnt feel right. If nothing is found I don't know what to do.
