Hi ladies,
I found myself in the situation where I am considering medication abortion, I have an appointment next week when I will be close to 8 weeks.

I am very scared of what to expect and after reading so many stories full if pain, I though I’d post here in hopes someone can share their positive experience.

this is my first pregnancy and I so want to be able to keep it, but the timing is not right, I’m not ready both emotionally and financially, I have no savings, no help, just started a new job and can’t afford to go in leave.

please talk to me 💔

Hey. Try not to frighten yourself from other people's stories, although when I went through it a few weeks ago I also did work myself up to a near panic attack before the medical abortion.

It was my first pregnancy and yeah I wish it had of been in a couple of years but it wasn't and I'm at peace knowing that it just wasn't the right time for me.

My ma was not painful or too heavy in bleeding. I had no nausea or diarrhea. I had temperature fluctuations but nothing else. It's so unique to the individual.

i did take codeine, ibruprofen and paracetamol before the second part and felt no pain. I was scared so I took what I could. I did not take any pain meds after, I did not need any. I bled for a week and then stopped.

And remember an MA is safer than childbirth and less painful. In 9 months you'll be pushing out a whole baby or if you decide ma is for you, it'll be much smaller and not really look like a baby yet.

if you decide to go ahead, I'd honestly premedicate, find things to keep you busy whilst going through it (welcome to msg me and I'm sure others feel the same) watch a movie and keep warm. Make yourself a comfy spot and reach out here for support.

all the best

It was like a heavy period for me at 8 weeks. Make sure you take pain relief when you insert the second set of pills so that by the time the cramps come you won't feel them. Drink a lot of water too. It helped that I took them an hour before kids fell asleep in bed so I got to rest in bed too. I woke up a few hours later and went to the toilet and heard 2 plops but couldn't see anything in the water full of blood. I assume the pregnancy had passed. Then felt so hungry so make sure you've got something to eat. I had a large bowl of noodles and can't remember what else. Good luck it's not as bad as it sounds. Apologies if I'm not making sense...writing this in a rush...
