Hi how many weeks are you? I am ringing bpas tomorrow to try get booked in for one but on there website it says if you are less than 10 weeks you have to have the tablets. Is that true do you know ? I’m sure you will be fine. If you are being put to sleep then you won’t remember anything. I was thinking of having the local anaesthetic so I was awake.

hi sorry if this is in the wrong place I’m new here!
I just wanted to jump on here to write a post as I have spent the last 3 weeks searching for a post about surgical abortion.

yesterday I had a surgical abortion under conscious sedation at 8 weeks.
I arrived at the clinic and a lovely lady took me into a room to check blood pressure etc. there was a few hours wait in-between but not too bad. I then went down to theatre and to say I was scared and nervous was an understatement; I was absolutely terrified shaking like a leaf , almost to the point where I nearly ran out of the doors.
2 nurses re assured me that I was going to be ok, a lovely lady came and put a canula in my hand and took me down to the room where tbe procedure was taking place. I lay on the bed with the 2 nurses beside me holding my hand while still talking to me telling me what was happening and what the surgeon was doing, they inserted the drug into my canula and within seconds I began to feel dizzy almost like a drunk woozy feeling, I felt a sharp scratch as thr needle went into my cervix and after some tugging like cramps. It was literally over before I knew it . The procedure was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be. The few weeks awaiting it was definitely worse. I was back In Recovery after about 15 mins and was eating biscuits and drinking apple juice; I’ve had minimal bleeding and very light cramping since, I’ve took no pain killers today and other than feeling a bit groggy I’m back to normal . Please don’t worry if you are having this procedure I honestly feel like I was the most scared person in the world about having it. And it was honestly not that bad. 100% reccomended. You can do it!!!
