Distance to clinic

today I've found out I will need to travel 90 miles to receive an appointment. I have to go first for a scan appointment then back again at a later date for the procedure.

has anyone else experienced this? I live in a central location in the midlands with other towns nearby offering the procedure (bpas) but they have said they won't fund me on nhs

Hey! Did they give you a reason why they wouldn't fund it, I went with bpas and was never mentioned. Can they not send out the pills instead, sounds like a nightmare 😔 and alot of faff specially when there's a clinic close by

Apparently Bpas and nupas don't have nhs funding in Lincolnshire. Not even to send out pills. I just got an email saying they can't help

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. So you're in Lincolnshire?

Can you have a look at this page?

Maybe you could be eligible for the hospital route? I feel for you I know how stressful it can be xx

I'm so sorry 😔 as if it isn't hard enough hey! I had an email from msi? I think it is, saying the same but that was before I found bpas. Is there none that covers your area at all? Hope you get sorted. X

Thank you all, I will try that Lincolnshire number on Monday morning. I contacted gp but he just said to call around the lines, they don't do referrals.

MSI is who I have my appointment with. I understand everywhere probably has huge waiting lists, I just didn't really expect to be sent so far when I know there are numerous providers within 20 miles

Fingers crossed they can help and don't have a waiting list. I was luck enough to ring at the right time and had a cancellation & the pills sent out the same day.
Let us know how you get on! X
