Hello,

I have had a call with my doctor today and they have recommended 50mg of Sertraline for my anxiety/intrusive thoughts/OCD.

has anyone taken this while late into their pregnancy and has your baby been ok?
im obviously worried about this having any effect on my baby.

How was your experience?

I feel I would benefit from taking this but I just can’t stand the thought of harming my baby.

thank you

I've taken it after pregnancy not during and honestly it helped me a lot.

What had your doctor said? I've read a lot of posts on here where women have said they've taken it at 7 months and they've been find. If you do a good search of Mumsnet sertraline and pregnancy they should come up.

Thanks for posting. It's just reminded me that I need to ask for anti depressants Myself at some point because I generally do suffer from post natal depression once baby is born or even the last few months.

@heartbroken22 Thank your for your reply! The doctor said it’s considered safe but there are some reports of heart defects, withdraws etc so it’s worried me slightly. I didn’t eat a lasagne once because I was scared of the cheese sauce (silly I know) so I’m obviously anxious about taking something that might cause any harm.

I just really need a helping hand at the moment, I start my CBT on the 28th so hoping that will help x

I have taken antidepressants through and through my pregnancy in 2018. I couldn't have done without them
