Hi all, stupidly I’ve gotten pregnant. I haven’t used birth control for 7 years as I’ve tracked my cycle. However this month I ran out of ovulation sticks & must of ovulated later than usual.
just for background I have an 13 month old son after 5 recurrent miscarriages. I definitely do NOT want any more children at the moment and 100% can not afford it. DH agrees.
I’ve got the number of my local abortion services to ring tomorrow morning but I just wanted to know what everyone’s experience was in term of the lead up to getting the medication, was it all over the phone? Did you have to attend, have scan etc? I can’t believe how stupid we’ve been.

Hi, sorry you're in this position, hope you're ok.
In my experience if you're sure of your dates, are less than 10 weeks & don't have any health conditions that may make a difference then you should be ok to have the pills posted out to you to take at home. I had to wait about a week from contacting them to having the phone consultation then pills arrived the next day. This was earlier in the year when it was all still a bit covid but pretty sure it's still happening in most places.
I've also had a surgical much more recently too which was a much longer wait for the procedure but personally for me I found that method much better.
It's such an individual thing but hope my experience helps you, happy to answer any questions you have 😊.

Thank you for your reply. I rang yesterday and have an appointment in 10 days (the earliest they could fit me in) I’m not happy about the wait but I don’t have any other options. They said as I know when my last period was I won’t need a scan I’ve just got to go and pick the medication up.
