First pregnancy and MA via BPAS at 5 weeks

As the title says. This is my first pregnancy. For various reasons I am terminating. I cannot tell anyone and so I’m feeling very alone.

I found out on Tuesday that I was pregnant, based on my last period that makes me 4 weeks. The clear blue test said 1-2 weeks.

I completed the BPAS form Tuesday and had my appointment with them this morning at 8am. They are sending the pills via post for a MA.

I will have to take the pills next week. Apparently not an issue given how early I am.

I’m experiencing some pregnancy symptoms such as diarrhoea (lovely), twinges in my uterus, I’m feeling exhausted, mood swings (although that may be the stress of this all) and my boobs hurt. I just want them gone.

I can work from home easily. Did anyone try to do so or did you take a sick day/ book a day off when passing the pregnancy?

I think you will definitely need one sick day. I’m also waiting for my pills to arrive, I believe they are tomorrow. The nurse at bpas was so lovely and understanding

@Louise1402 thank you. Mine arrive tomorrow too. Realistically I can’t take them till Wednesday though. I think I’ll take a sick day, based on what I’ve read on here.

The nurses are great aren’t they

Yes they really are. My pills are now arriving today before 7pm so will take them as soon as because I’ve been suffering massively with HG. been given anti sickness tablets by my GP but they haven’t helped at all. Spent the last three days off work which isn’t ideal

pepsi12345 · 12/08/2022 13:44

@Louise1402 oh bless you. That’s rubbish.. hope it subsides soon. Will be thinking of you, good luck.

the only symptoms I currently have are diarrhoea (lovely..), fatigue and some twinges. Can’t wait for this to be over!

I have taken all of the prescribed tablets by 9am this morning but still no bleeding as of yet. starting to feel very apprehensive

pepsi12345 · 13/08/2022 17:03

@Louise1402 how are you getting on now?

still no bleeding and not much cramping either really. more of a lower back ache but nothing else besides that. starting to really worry that it hasn’t worked

pepsi12345 · 13/08/2022 21:37

@Louise1402 ahh sorry to hear that. Hoping it has moved along now for you xx

My pills ended up arriving Friday, the day after my consultations.. very speedy.

I’m planning on taking the first tablets today, which will stop the pregnancy hormone.

I’m then planning on taking the next 6 on Wednesday, to pass the pregnancy. For various reasons I need to be alone for it. I’ve annoyingly busted my ankle over the weekend and can’t walk or drive. Already thinking of cracking open the codeine to help with that pain.

It never rains but it pours

I’ve just taken the mifepristone now. Not really sure how I’m feeling. It’s 100% the right decision but still feel sad, and a bit of grief

Woke up to some very light bleeding from the mifepristone this morning. I took the first four misoprostol 10 minutes ago. Took 3 ibuprofen and 2 codeine around half hour before I did.

I’m now camped in bed with my iPad, snacks and some drinks, just waiting

I thought I’d update after today.

I took the first misoprostol around 9am. Nothing really happened at first. I had some very light cramping. Around 11.30, I started to bleed slightly heavier. It was still quite limited to when I wiped and went to the toilet though, rather than on the pad.

Around 11.45, I went to the toilet and there were some bigger clots. A few that were pound coin size, some smaller. The one big one around the size of my thumb. With the big one, I also passed a white slimey ball that was around the size of a marble. It had a black dot in it. I think that must have been the pregnancy.

i took the second lot of misopristol at just gone 12. My pain and cramping at this point was still manageable.

Around 1.45, I began to experience really intense pain that came in waves. It was hurting my lower back and thighs. I was having to lie on the floor. I tried rocking back and forth on my hands and knees which helped. At this point, I was also being sick.

I perhaps should have taken more painkillers when I took the second lot of miso. The pain was awful but I will say it passed after around 45 minutes and from there was manageable with a hot water bottle.

I didn’t really bleed much after that. I ended up having a shower as the tablets had really dried my vagina out. I’m now bleeding quite lightly, no more than a normal period. The cramps are also very light.

Emotionally I just feel wiped out. Keeping everything crossed this has worked

Hi @pepsi12345 sorry to hear you had a rough time. How are you feeling now a couple days later?

pepsi12345 · 19/08/2022 18:51

Hello thank you for checking in @Yorkshir27. I feel fine now. All pain gone and im bleeding about as much as a normal period. No more cramping. A few smaller clots but nothing too bad.

I’ve slept over 12 hours both nights since Wednesday so I think it’s just wiped me emotionally.

I feel relieved it’s done. It’s 100% the right decision. I get a little twinge of sadness now and then but I’m trying to find strength in that I was able to go through that and come out the other side.

this forum has been a life saver!
