Hi mums, it’s my first time ever using this site so I’m not sure how it works with the topic I hope I don’t trigger anyone with this I just couldn’t find the topic that suits my situation….

I am so scared!! I am a 22 year old mom of already a 14 month old and I am 8 weeks pregnant! I take my first tablet tomorrow to start my medical termination process but all I’ve seen online is the most HORRIFIC horror stories.. I am scared to death about the whole process! I guess I’m just on here to find woman who have gone through a medical abortion around 8 weeks and who have had okay experiences! I’m on the verge on a panic attack about the whole thing…. And I can’t sleep :(

thanks in advance ladies xx

Be sure it’s what you want to do and you know that this will stay with you. no one else’s opinion should persuade you.

know that the cramps will hurt - they do. The experience is awful. But it helps if you’re as ok as you can be doing this.

good luck

Hi my sweet.

I've just literally taken my lot yesterday.
I was 9 weeks pregnant. I took the first tablet on Wednesday
Not a lot happened. I had a small amount of bleeding and not a great deal of pain.

Then yesterday I inserted the first 4 tablets... after that I got very heavy bleeding and strong period pains. Then 3 hours later as directed inserted the last 2 tablets. That's when it kicked in.
I got what I was describe as mild contraction (more painful that period pains less painful that full on labour) i can't lie there was a fair bit of blood and a good few clots. It hurt but it wasn't unbearable and I didn't see anything as I didn't look down the toilet (I saw clots after wiping)
It took about 2 hours or so to pass then the pain dulles down to heavy period pain. I did have to change my always pad every hour though.
I am now over 24 hours past inserting the last tablet I'm getting not slot of pain just the odd twinge here and there still heavy blood but more like a heavy period than flooding the pad.
I know it's different for everyone but I read horror stories that made me terrified when in reality it wasn't as bad as people said. I found ladies on this site to have more of an accurate story. I'm sorry you're going through this but just remember to take pain relief, relax, hot water bottle and sleep (if you can) don't go to work. I did and I wished I didn't. You'll be okay.

Take care and stay safe xx

Thanks so much for replying! And For sharing your personal experience! I am just so petrified of it all going to horribly wrong but it’s nice to know that you had a good ish experience and it wasn’t completely unbearable! I just know this is the right choice and I don’t want to not go through with it out of fear of the bleeding and cramping and complications!

I hope your healing well physically and mentally thanks again xxx

@Courtneygill no problem. I want to be honest and realistic.
I felt it was the right choice for me as well. And as you say I read many horror stories but after going through it the worst part was after the stage 3 tablets and the cramping though it wasn't unbearable pain.

Today I'm fine just bleeding heavy.
Yes I'm healing fine thank you. And you will too. It is scary I wouldn't want to go through it again in a hurry mind you.

But if you can take it codine is the best pain relief according to the nurse. I unfortunately can't take it so used paracetamol and ibuprofen. X

Hi, my friend did it at around 8 weeks and said it’s just like a bad period, I’m currently in the same situation but only short of 5 weeks. I have been having panic attacks for 2 days, after I took the first tablet on Thursday I even called bpas if I can opt for a surgical as I read too much horror stories and was too scared to carry on with the second set of medication. I can’t wait for an appointment though as we are due to go abroad in a few weeks. So last night at 10pm I inserted the tablets and nothing happened until it was time for the second set which I dissolved in my mouth, just over an hour i started spotting when I got up. So I tried to stay on the toilet, I started bleeding a little bit more and more with large clots. So far I haven’t had any cramping at all, I have been taking pain medication every few hours though. I’m not really bleeding when I’m lying down only when I go sit on the toilet. I’m just praying it’s all going to come out.
