Trapped Wind Surgical Abortion

I had an early surgical abortion on Saturday with LA and it went well.
I have since experienced awful trapped wind pain in my abdomen and -tmi- rectal area. It hurts to stand or sit in certain ways and I get an extreme spasm in the area at points. I'm also struggling to go to the toilet but can pass urine fine.
How normal is this?

Peppermint Will shift your trapped wind, you can buy from any chemist as peppermint water to drink like a shot or go to a shop and get peppermint tea
soda water is also good at moving trapped wind it makes you burp.
trApped wind is a common side effect from many surgeries as it being unable to open your bowels.
some OTC laxities should help but if those remedies don’t work I’d go to see a doctor

Get peppermint. Both my c-sections I was in huge pain from trapped wind. I was shocked at how much pain I was in. Peppermint oil practically immediately cured it.

Yes I’m with pp, peppermint oil and massage to ease the trapped wind will help.

I will head out this morning to get some peppermint tea and oil. I hadn't realised this would be an issue, very relieved to hear this should sort it! Thank you Halo

I had a D and C last year for a MMC- am assuming it is same procedure- and experienced exactly the same thing. The pain was awful
Gp said the surgery can put your bowel into spasm and prescribed me tablets - I think it was buscopan- to relax the bowel. Worked a treat to stop the pain. Hope you can get it sorted.

@Bluepolkadots42 I've taken a buscopan and although the cramps haven't gone 100%, they've dialled down enough for me to sneeze without pain! Thank you Daffodil
