9 week termination

So just got off the phone from bpas... lol who told me I must have a scan before they give me the termination I refused and was told either I have the scan or they won't help me.

So I have to wait 2 weeks for a scan which willl take me to 9 weeks.

I'm scared and worried I don't want to wait that long but I have no choice...

Has anyone else had a termination at 9 weeks what happened and what's to expect?
I feel so scared

@LOSTladyscarlett Did they say why? I’m sorry that’s the case as I know you said on your other thread you didn’t want to delay things. 2 weeks seems an awfully long time to make you wait 😕

I was 6 weeks when I had my medical abortion but I do know someone who had one at 11 weeks and she was fine, said it was no worse than a heavy period? Have you tried NUPAS or MSI? Perhaps they could see you sooner…

By Law you Have to have a Scan in the UK before a termination so the doctors can determine how many weeks pregnant you are and also if you are actually pregnant.
Your scan and usually a very quick internal examination will decide if you can have a medical abortion or a abortion under anaesthetic.

Nope she just said that was the earliest appointment in my area unless I travel which I can't travel too as it's too far.

MSI and a couple
Others I've tried don't cover my area. I've tried to go through my doctor now see what happens. Xx

@avamiah that's not correct. I didn't have a scan. They'll ask for a scan if you're not sure if when your last period was. I was 100% sure when my last period was so I didn't need a scan. I spoke to them at 4 weeks and did it at home at 6 weeks.

Also please don't be scared. It's so
Difficult getting to this decision but for me it was nothing more than a period. I was 6 weeks so a bit earlier but have read lots of positives stories

I've had several medical terminations, including one at 9 weeks and it was fine. Just remember to dose up on pain killers 10 minutes before you take the second set of tablets if you go down the medical route.

It was the same for me, they offered me a scan but I was 100% on my dates so I declined and they were fine with that, still sent me the pills etc. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was 100000% sure but because it was contraception failure they were adamant I needed one even though it's the only time I've been intimate in about a year lol.
