I had a abortion 3 weeks ago today, medical.

I only bled for a week… today I’ve been feeling sick and I’ve started bleeding I passed a clot too. My pregnancy test says pregnant 2-3 weeks so surely pregnancy is continuing? Typical I can’t get through to the abortion clinic.. I’m freaking out has this happened to anyone else? 111 wait time is 50 minutes!!

Hi hope you're okay. Did you ring the clinic where you got treated to see if they would scan ?

Hi, I had a medical termination 5 weeks ago and still testing positive. I’ve had a scan and although I bled loads after taking the medication I’ve still got lots of retained tissue and an empty pregnancy sac. You may still be pregnant or like me just not passed everything. Make sure you get checked out, they may ask you to test again in a week and then go from there. I’m booked in for an MVA next week. Hope you’re ok xx

My medical termination didn't work. Tested positive three weeks later, went for a scan, and lo and behold I was still pregnant.

I'm booked in for a surgical abortion in 10 days.

Hope everything goes well for you and that you get the answer you want. Take it from me, it's much much better to know for sure so please ask for a referral for a scan to put your mind at rest

@OrangeySmorangey did you bleed after taking both pills? It just amazes me how for some it works and for others it doesn't.

@imsoscared2022 i did bleed but nowhere near as much as I was expecting so when I got the positive result it wasn't a massive surprise.

The sonographer said how rare it was for it not to work, but some people simply just don't react to the medication. The more I read though, the more cases I hear about where its failed. If I could do this all again (or if I was ever in this position again) I'd go straight for the surgical option - I'm slightly nervous but much more positive about the outcome

@OrangeySmorangey did all your symptoms go away? Thank you for replying.
