Pregnancy after abortion

I had a medical abortion 8 weeks ago which I really regret.

I’ve still not had a period. I went onto the pill after but did forget to take it one day. When I went onto my break week I expected a period but nothing arrived, not even any cramping or the symptoms I usually have before a period.

I did a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago and it was positive and I was quite excited about it as I felt like I had previously made the wrong decision. However, I don’t feel pregnant (I’ve been nauseous sometimes but thinking that could be all in my head?) and I’ve done more tests since and the lines are getting fainter. Wondering if it could be hormones from the previous pregnancy?

I’ve contacted the clinic and also midwives in case I am pregnant but just wondering if anyone has had anything similar?

Please no judgement, I’m already being hard enough on myself.

It is likely to be leftover hormones from the previous pregnancy, I’m afraid.

Call your EPU or midwives to arrange a scan as you may have tissue that still needs to come away.

If you are hoping to be pregnant again then ovulation will not trigger for as long as your body still has pregnancy hormones

Just to update I had blood test and my hormone levels were so low so likely not a new pregnancy and residual hormones from last time. Hopefully my body will settle soon! Thanks for the advice.

If I was six weeks pregnant then I had unprotected sex again and some sperm got into me
Then after three days I had an abortion
Please I wanna know does everything go out?? Or just the old one??
