What happens? Abortion at home

So I have a telephone consultation soon, my plan is to ask for abortion pills at home.
I've read the basics but I'm wondering what people's real experiences are?

I currently have a teenager with autism and a 9 month old baby. I would really like this baby but the timing just isn't right.

Would I need to get someome to watch the baby whilst I took them?

Not a personal experience but I was in very close contact with some who recently took them. She was just under 10 weeks. She did hers vaginally, not orally. Not much happened & she didn't feel too bad after the first set. Some mild cramping and feeling like she was about to come on before she took the second set. Not long after taking the second set, she started to bleed heavily and have quite severe cramps, and some sickness. She has 2 DC and they were out for a couple of days (home at night) because she didn't feel there was anyway she could have cared for them as was having to change so often / go to the bathroom so often. She struggled with the amount of bleeding and clots etc in the respect of not really being able to concentrate on anything else. Pain wise, she probably could have coped. But I don't know if it makes a difference how far gone you are.

I have had 2 experiences both around 6 weeks. Oral tablets both times. Nothing at all happens with first tablet. Second tablets they say it can start within 30 mins. Mons started within the hour and was all over with in 2 hours, max. One of them I heard a large plop into the toilet and I knew it had passed. It's no more painful than a painful period at that stage. Obviously I cant comment after 6 weeks. Good luck

Personally if you can get somone to have your child then do so, just so you can rest and be in peace but it will be manageable if not. Just have pain killers and a hot water bottle at the ready.

I had a medical termination about a month ago now & I was approx 6 weeks pregnant. Like someone else has said, first pill has no effect at all so timing of the second lot of tablets is the key. I went for a Friday afternoon when my husband would be back from work to help with our children.
I took them orally - it was disgusting holding them in your mouth for 30 mins. About an hour after taking them I felt really nauseous & had to have a lie down for an hour, the bleeding started after about 2 1/2-3 hours & was heavy but not excessive. Fortunately I was lucky & it was not at all painfully. The bleeding was heavy for a couple of days then tailed off to a normal period. Lasted about a week in total.
Then a week later I had another period type bleed followed by another a week after that. I can only assume I had some retained products but MSI choices did say it's not unusual to bleed on & off for up to 6 weeks.
Hope this has been helpful & sending you a big hug

Thank you for all your kind replies.
I am most worried about the pain but will take painkillers in advance.
DH is off work this weekend so I will do it then.

Hi I had a home termination about 8 years ago now so it may have changed . But I think it seems to vary so much from women to women the pain etc it’s difficult to say. I don’t remember mine being to painful it was the shock of the amount of bleeding and dhiorreha that came out . It really did feel like I was completely emptied after . You will prob be quite tired so I’d say get someone to have your baby if you can , just so you can relax after and take good care of yourself. Hope it goes ok for you x
