New pregnancy or left over HCG

Hi everyone can’t believe I’m writing this but here goes. I’m 10 weeks pp, I have a 14 year old and 2 year old also..had unprotected sex with DH on day 14 (says he only came a tiny bit before pulling out)..cycle is regular and 28-30 days in length..got the morning after pill..but today also got a positive pregnancy test..three to be exact..praying and hoping this is left over hormones from 10 week old?! What are the chances..am I kidding myself?

I think it’s hard to say to be honest, it’s very unlucky to get pregnant after the morning after pill but obviously happens, and seems like the most likely outcome. I’d contact the GP today to get their advice and see if they can check for retained products or ask for HCG blood tests to check if it’s a new pregnancy. I’m guessing you can’t have had a period since giving birth yet?

Yes I’ve had one period..bang on 6 weeks after. That makes me think even more that it’s a new pregnancy. Yes I’m going to speak to doctor today. Did another clear blue this morn and it’s very positive

So you had a period after the sex on day 14 and morning after pill? Or was that day 14 of this cycle? Sorry I assumed you meant day 14 post birth, If it’s day 14 of your first proper cycle id absolutely assume new pregnancy sorry. Hopefully your GP is helpful and allows blood tests to clarify either way though

Oh day 14 of cycle. Sorry for not being clear. I was really trying to hold onto left over hcg idea but its sounding increasingly silly/ not possible. Thankyou for replying..I’m away to cry in the shower after I get my 10 week and 2 year old to nap 😭😭😭

Thought I would update Incase anyone found themselves in similar situation. Positive tests became lighter and started brown spotting this AM so I think it’s a chemical pregnancy.

Or else it was just left over HCG and my period is late due to MAP..wouldn’t explain the brown spotting though which is new for me.

Test from two days ago and test from today. Both took at similar times in the day

Is the top one from 2 days ago?

Hi unsureaboutit9 thanks for sticking with me..I thought it was 2 days ago but actually 4..so top is from wed and the bottom today (Sunday)

Still unsure and I’ve ran out of tests..still have brown spotting..but having a huge glass of wine also. Strange being on this side of things..praying not to be pregnant..hoping not to see a line..when I’ve spent so long beforehand doing the opposite

Thankyou nellie yes I am in full blown period mode now..a very painful one. Feeling lots of different things now but I know I’m not ready for another baby yet so really this was the best possible outcome
