Hi I had a medical termination nearly 5 weeks ago I was about 6/7 weeks. I bled like a period for the first week and then it lightened but I’ve spotted pink since having it but today I’ve got really bad backache and just feel drained and my bleeding has gotten darker and coming onto the pad I took a shop pregnancy test Xmas Eve and was faint positive then retested on the 27th and was negative. What’s the chances of this actually being my period ? Would the test show positive if I had retained products? Is the first period after heavier then normal? Cause this backache is worse then when on my usual period x

I think it can take up to 6-8 weeks to get a period after TOP , but the fact you’re testing negative after a faint positive is a good sign that your HCG levels are dropping . Also remember the shop brought tests are very highly sensitive so will pick up the slightest pregnancy hormones in your body . That’s why the test they give you post Procedure is low sensitivity 😊
Try to relax as stress on the body can delay things too .
And yes regarding periods , they usually are heavier if you had a medical for the first couple of periods after treatment x

@Rose925 yeah the test they gave me was negative so done a shop 1 as I know they pick up the slightest and just wanted to be sure that it was going back to normal. I’m unsure if this is even my period as it’s not heavy at all but I’ve awful lower back pain & had cramps which are now gone but as for the bleeding it’s not heavy at all my normal periods are heavier but the blood is darker then the light pink spotting I’d been having it just feels like it’s never ending and feels like it’ll never stop was hoping this was my period and it would all come to an end x
