Do you have a medical phone line in Ireland? Sorry I don't know.

Rosiiiiie · 25/09/2021 19:08

It can take a while to start.
I got given the same tablets for a miscarriage and I bled a bit in the next 12 hours. Then it completely stopped and they gave me more. Nothing happened so needed a d&c.
Good luck!

thesearelaughterlines · 25/09/2021 19:26

It could take up to 24 hrs lovely
Don't panic ... just get some nice stuff you like
Some snacks , hot water bottle , candle , music ...
You'll be ok , I promise

Should it not have been 4 Miso you took ? Who was your provider darling ?
Was it Bpas ? Msi ?

ED81 · 25/09/2021 20:38

I was advised if had not bled by 4 hours to take an extra 2 misoprostol. However always contact your own provider to check this.
Hope you are alright now. This is a tough thing to go through.xx

Worry1 · 25/09/2021 20:49

Thanks so much for replies......Yes i have another tablet to take after 4 hours if nothing. Only had to take 2 as they 400mg each not 200mg.
Just hoped it happen faster. Have very mild cramps now and tiny bit of blood on tissue so i am hoping it is starting.
I haven't told anyone as didnt want to burden others and also the opinions!

Aw, that’s the thing. This can be a lonely journey. I’ve told no friends or family. It’s just so taboo. I’m my opinion wrongly so but that’s the way it is. I hope this improves.

Thinking of you.xx

ED81 · 25/09/2021 21:12

*In my opinion

Worry1 · 25/09/2021 21:15

Thank you, good to speak to people in similar ways.
Cramps are bit stronger and have passed some blood so dont think i need the extra tablet. I'm surprized how few stories there are for people to read about it. Mumsnet is only place i found anything x

@Worry1 in Bpas we recommend using the additional 400mg 3-4 hrs after the original 800mg , if your treatment is working it's not a necessity but you do want to make sure you give yourself the best chance of it being successful , which will reduce your need for any follow up care
Sounds as if you are starting so look after yourself and be positive that it will be over soon

Worry1 · 25/09/2021 21:30

My bleeding has started....it's not heavy, white bits as well that i think are pprobably the lining? Should i take the 3rd tablet?

OP posts:
thesearelaughterlines · 25/09/2021 21:33

See how you go darling , you're very early and you've started so hopefully all will go to plan
If it slows down I'd use the other -if you prefer when bleeding - in the mouth this time
Just place in between cheek and gum
Let it dissolve -
Mind the side affects can be a bit more intense if you do this bucally but you can be assured it's all working

ED81 · 25/09/2021 22:00

Take it easy. I hope you get some rest overnight.xx

ED81 · 25/09/2021 22:00

Hot water bottle and some pain relief too.x

thesearelaughterlines · 25/09/2021 22:07

@ED81 hope you are ok , it's been a wee while for you darling , you sound as if you still struggling ? Have you got some support , could you ring for some post treatment counselling ?

Worry1 · 25/09/2021 22:20

I've taken the 3rd tablet, to try give myself best chance and hopefully get over the worst tonight and have some bit normal tomorrow as have to visit elder parents.
Hot waterbottle on me all evening so maybe it is keeping pain at bay because no bad pain yet

@thesearelaughterlines. Thank you. Bless you for asking.

Much better now. Just taking time
and receiving weekly counselling.x

Rosiiiiie · 26/09/2021 08:08

How are you feeling this morning?

Worry1 · 26/09/2021 08:34

I'm good this morning. Passed a few clots and had strong period cramps for few hours and slept then. It's just like my normal period today. So thankful for this site. I saw that not heavy bleeding can be common in early abortion so it really put my mind at ease as i was expecting alot of blood.

OP posts:
ED81 · 26/09/2021 08:37

Glad you are feeling brighter today.
Yeah, it’s not always the case for lots of blood. Some women bleed lightly some are far heavier.
The whole experience of termination is so individual.x

Worry1 · 26/09/2021 08:48

Ya exactly. I'm happy with my decision. How are you?

OP posts:
thesearelaughterlines · 26/09/2021 08:55

Glad you ok @Worry1 , women often overestimate how bad it will be so as long as you follow the self assessment tool you will be fine 💐
@ED81 glad you having some therapy

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/09/2021 15:32

So glad you're feeling less worried. Take care.

thesearelaughterlines · 26/09/2021 21:36

How are you doing @Worry1

Worry1 · 26/09/2021 21:45

I'm doing good, just like period today did everything as normal, just a bit tired. Thanks for all the info and support yesterday.
