Hi, I just wanted to share my experience as I found the chat on here so helpful and supportive when I was going through it all.
I had a medical abortion at 6+5. I took the first pill at 3pm on the Monday, I wasn't sick or nauseous, I felt completely fine, at about 3pm the next day I started to bleed. I took the next 4 pills at 18.30pm, lay down in bed and waited for the painful cramps and awful bleeding that I had read about. Nothing happened. At 21.30pm I took the two extra pills as I hadn't had any cramps or any additional bleeding. Nothing happened. I slept through the night and woke up at 7am to two tiny drops of blood on the pad. I was so stressed. I waited til midday and called the Marie Stopes helpline, they told me that I had to wait 48 hours as sometimes some bodies take longer for the pills to take effect. I was so stressed, I read every single conversation on here about failed medical abortions. The days passed, we got to Thursday morning and the bleeding was still the same like a very light, last day of period bleeding. At this point I was so stressed and called them up again, I explained my symptoms, they suggested it could be an ectopic pregnancy, this sent me into overdrive!! I was told someone would call me within 48 hours as I was considered an emergency. No call. By Saturday morning I was freaking out, I called them again and an appointment was made for Monday, one full week after taking the first pills.
I am delighted to say the scan showed nothing, they did a PT and it was negative. They told me that sometimes, some people, just have it really lightly!!!
