My pills arrived from BPAS this morning. I’m so scared to take the first one, I have been putting it off all day. I just need to start the process. But I feel so sick. Please can anyone offer some support x

Here to offer a handhold. I had a termination a couple of weeks ago and honestly I was surprised by how easy the actual process was. I was around 7 weeks, it was almost painless, certainly no more painful than a 3 out of 10 and less painful than many periods. The actual pregnancy passed within about 40 mins of inserting the pills - after the first oral pill two days earlier I had no symptoms except some bleeding when I woke up on the day I was to take the rest of them.

The bleeding was like a heavy period - I passed three biggish clots, one of them being the pregnancy, but it was just an odd feeling, not sore. Almost two weeks later I have light bleeding, like the tail end of a period. I stocked on maternity pads as they were absorbent and nice and soft.

Are you worried about the process or is it the decision that you are finding hard? Thanks

Have you been given any pain relief? I was given codeine if I needed it; I didn't in the end, but it was good to know it was there if I did. The nurse recommended I take ibuprofen and paracetamol just before I inserted the tablets and then codeine if needed.

I started the process at 8am - by early afternoon I was feeling fine, and I was able to have dinner and put my DD to bed as normal. I went and sat on the toilet for about 20 mins when I felt like clots were going to come out - it just feels like you need to go to the toilet, and they came out quickly. Get everything set up in bed or on the sofa first: drinks, your maternity pads, hot water bottle.

Feel free to private message me or ask anything you like here. I was terrified about it, but it helped to read other people's experiences.

Thank you all. Im most scared about being flooded by regret once Ive taken this first pill. I think its like knowing the worst is still to come. Im not worried about the pain, just what it symbolises I guess.
