Medical Abortion- bleeding but no pain?

Hi everyone. I started my medical abortion last Thursday. Took the first pill Thursday lunchtime and then the second lot of pills 25 hours later on the Friday.
I was really sick with the first pill and started bleeding too (like a normal period amount). So I knew things were happening before taking the second lot of medication.
After inserting the 4 pills, the bleeding got a lot heavier and I passed clots. Not massive but then I was only 5 weeks 4 days, so really early.
I took a codeine tablet and 2 ibuprofen an hour before I took them and I guess what I’m concerned about is the fact I didn’t feel any pain much at all? I think after reading so many stories I was really expecting the worse which is why I topped up my pain relief. The bleeding was heavy and there were clots so I’m assuming it worked?
I only took the first 4 pills as the nurse said only take the addition 2 if there is no bleeding after 4 hours, and there was so I assumed it was all happening.
Anyway, just wanted to post. Maybe I’ve just been lucky? I guess I was really ready for the worst!
Still bleeding now 4 days on, exactly as they said. Like a heavy period. Just wish I could fast forward 3 weeks and take the preg test to know for sure if it has worked!

Hope you are ok. It’s really is such a tough time.

Sounds like it has worked though - and will relative ease. It really is individual isn’t it.

Take it easy though. Be kind you yourself.x

Hey,
This is how I have been since I took my pills on Tuesday. I was 5 weeks too so early. I’ve been thinking I’ve had an easy ride. I’m still bleeding like a period and I’m having some mild cramps too but I guess this is to be expected x

@Rach6384 hi did this work for you in the end as I’m experiencing the same bleeding heavy with smallish clots but no pain worried it’s not working 🤦🏻‍♀️x

@Shauna2866 I had the same! I went through mine last Thu and Fri. Still bleeding but today it’s gotten lighter. Passed some clots after taking the last 2 of the 6 tablets, but no pain or cramping! Spoke with two different midwives at NUPAS who reassured me pain or lack of doesn’t mean anything and as long as there is bleeding and clots the treatment is working. I’m also a nervous mess waiting 3 weeks now to find out, so what I did was do a digi test (the one that tells you weeks). It showed 2-3 when I found out I was pregnant which was…12 days ago and today it still showed 2-3, which put my mind at ease a little bit as it’s not going up! Or it has gone up and is coming back down. Either way gave me some peace of mind. Hope it goes down to 1-2 in the next few days and then I think I will manage to wait to test with theirs. Maybe do a digi one?

@Yanayana the hospital have gave me X2 tests to take she said to take them 2 weeks after as it will be more accurate then! And yeah I’m just worried because I have zero pain or cramping just have a lot of blood and very smallish clots sorry TMI🤦🏻‍♀️ they have also gave me the pill to take but I can’t take that until the bleeding has stopped let’s hope it has worked for both of us 🙏🏻 x

Just did a test- digital is now 1-2 weeks, and a non digi is a super faint barely there line. The relief I feel is massive. Hope this encourages anyone who is going through this and has the same anxiety.
