**Trigger Warning** Abortion Confusion

I am having an abortion later this week, just waiting for the pills to be delivered.

I am a bit nervous as I am not sure what to expect, I have done lots of reading online but thought I would ask people here about actual real life experiences so I can prepare myself a bit better.

I am approx 9 weeks

Aibu to ask you to tell me your experiences, I'm mainly interested in whether the pills make you feel sick etc

I haven't had an abortion, but had the pills for a missed miscarriage. It didn't make me sick, but was absolutely awful with the pain. It was the same as my induction for my daughter apart from I was alone at home.

Please make sure you have someone who can look after you throughout the process. It is really tough to go through. Hope it goes as easily as possible.

I’ve had them.

I didn’t feel sick but the cramps were like a very bad period. I found it quite distressing but obviously not as distressing as an unwanted pregnancy. I was very tired and wiped out afterwards. All in all like a very bad period but with the emotional aspect on top so make sure you have someone to look after you and maybe some time off work to recover.

Thank you both, I am quite nervous but circumstances mean following through with this pregnancy would not be a good idea.

I really appreciate your responses.

Hi Namechanged,

I had these at around 8 weeks, they didn’t make me feel sick and I had no pain at all. It was like a (very) heavy period for the first day and I did feel a little bit dizzy just getting up to go to the toilet so make sure you rest as much as possible. Afterwards I did feel a bit wiped out but otherwise fine.

It was the right decision for me at the time although I did still find it quite emotional, I hope you have some RL support

Exactly the same. No pain, no side effects, just very heavy bleeding and clots for a few hours then like a regular period for a week or so. I was almost 8 weeks

I also had a straightforward virtually painless experience, although I was 5 weeks, so less further along. No side effects at all and was all over within a few hours of the second lot of pills. Nothing worse than a heavy period. I have had 4 children previously though so I’m not sure if that made things easier somehow.

I recently had a medical abortion at home. I was a bit earlier than you, but like others have said it was no worse than a heavy period. It was over within hours and was manageable like a period for a week after.
The worst part is the waiting for the phone call and then the tablets. Good luck.

Thank you everyone! Going to take the first one tonight then the others tomorrow. Thank you so much for your responses Flowers
